It is like saying driving your car at 90 mph is safer than driving at 90.7 mph and that will reduce accidents by 25%. lol There are a million other factors involved especially with this small sample and many different hitters on the roster.

My point wasn't so much if it was down but just all the monitoring and measuring that goes on. Its one thing to be taking hacks in batting practice with a coach watching, but these days it's all this analytical stuff on top of it.

No I got your point I was just criticizing the person that bothered to write that article based on a minuscule meaningless changeDonn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2026 2:50 pmMy point wasn't so much if it was down but just all the monitoring and measuring that goes on. Julio needs to lose 10% off his bat speed and focus on driving the ball to all fields. Cal shojld also drop his bat speed or use a bigger bat so that he doesn't break it every time he makes solid contact. JP needs to load his bat wigh superballs...

Yeah, he hits a lot of these little singles that only go for hits because of his speed, and most of the time he doesn't drive the ball at all unless it's over the fence. He also fouls off a lot of pitches right in the heart of the zone, which is not something that should happen with any frequency to a competent major league hitter.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2026 5:55 pmJulio needs to lose 10% off his bat speed and focus on driving the ball to all fields. I have not heard anybody in baseball comment that lower bat speed could be a good thing. Declining bat speed is viewed as the number one indicator of declining performance

Luis Arraez has one of the slowest bat speeds in MLB. what it mainly correlates to is power.
