Call me crazy but I'll hold out for the prospect you don't have to make excuses for. Have OPS problems there, he'll have them here.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 5:54 amHe is in an extreme pitcher's park for half his games, and he's still developing. OPS is .130 higher on the roadbpj wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 4:50 amIs that out of 5 guys?D-train wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 3:50 amWhite has the highest OPS for a 1B in the Texas league.........by 52 points.

Are any of the other 4 even prospects?
Theres also a Catcher, a 2B, a 3B and a center fielder ahead of him in OPS.
I don't know, an .826 OPS in the minor leagues for a 1B is weak to put it mildly. There's only so much defense to be had at 1B to begin with.

Re: Minor League Updates
It's not an excuse, it's a fact. Go look at every player in Arkansas, they all have at least .100 point OPS difference in home and road games, with the exception of maybe Fraley.

.888 OPS on the road. Guessing he would have about that in AAA. I agree he needs to have a .800+ OPS in the big leagues regardless of D to be part of the program.

You can't just look away the whole season either. He is developing and in his first year in AA. Since May 30 (about when Kyle Lewis got hot as well) he is hitting .330/.356/.581/.937 overall

They tried that approach for Mallex Smith for awhile too, cherrypicking dates, I dunno...
Re: Minor League Updates
It's not cherry picking dates. It's adjusting to a promotion. This is over 2 months for both of them. It's not just a "hot streak" when it's over half the season.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 7:04 pmThey tried that approach for Mallex Smith for awhile too, cherrypicking dates, I dunno...

Good points, I would definitely say that Evan White is the player he's showing he is in AA.
The bombs I watched him hit are definitely big league swings. If the dude puts on 20 pounds he could be a monster, I'll give it to him.

I can't tell, are you being sarcastic, or did you just agree with me?

Re: Minor League Updates
Praise the lord... the fact that he's hit 13 HR in 290 AB in a pitcher's league even after the rough start should be very encouraging. Add even 10 lbs and a juiced ball, he can be a 25-30 HR guy. The question is, will he be able to hit for a high enough average against MLB pitchingbpj wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 7:24 pmI have no problem agreeing with anyone when they're right..
Even Don Gorgon is right every once in awhile. It's almost shocking when it happens, but it does happen surprisingly.
