Re: Thu GT : Nationals
What a complete disaster of a series. When you pinch pennies and supplement your good players with a bunch of scrubs instead of signing guys like Pete Alonso, those scrubs might play well in small bursts but it's not sustainable over 162 games.
Lucky for us the Asstros got stomped today, although at this time tomorrow they'll probably supplant us in first place.
Arozarena absolutely can not hit the fastball any more, I mean everyone is just firing fastballs past him, even right down the middle. His OPS only looks good because of all the walks, other than that his ability to hit a baseball is a distant memory. The Rays knew what they were doing when they traded him to us.
Taveras did have a hell of a game tonight. Good to see that.

Though, Taveras needs to learn where the wall is at T-mobile. While otherwise playing well In RF, he completely flubbed two catchable outs tonight because he got confused. At the plate, he's not the worst of my worries though.
Arozarena has become a disaster though. He had two great opportunities to make a major impact, which would have prevented extra innings, but couldn't even make contact. I don't know how long he's been using the torpedo bat, but I noticed it tonight and find it hilarious. No point in switching to the torpedo bat if you can't hit the effing ball.

If I had a dollar for every baserunner Randy Arozarena has left on base in the last 7-10 games I would be a rich man. Awful.
Get Young and Ford up here immediately. Even if Ford is your DH he is better than 1/2 the clowns they trotted out there last night.

So what's the feeling about Danny W using Munoz in the 9th instead of saving him for extra innings. I don't like it really. The way the Mariner bats were going last night the odds of them scoring in the 9th seemed minute.
Re: Thu GT : Nationals
But if you go with Snider you lose in the 9th instead of the 10th. I guess Munoz would have got the night off.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 4:05 pmSo what's the feeling about Danny W using Munoz in the 9th instead of saving him for extra innings. It never should have got to that point. Mariners had guys on base in the 7th and 8th innings with chances to take the lead and manured the bed. Arozarena SUCKED in that game last night and has been brutally awful the past 10 games.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 4:05 pmSo what's the feeling about Danny W using Munoz in the 9th instead of saving him for extra innings. Likely best to save Munoz if they had taken the lead in the 8th inning, but banking on them scoring in the bottom of the 9th is foolish because they had scored a measley 2 runs in almost 2 full games at that point.

If Dan had a good idea of how badly Snider was likely to get lit up then perhaps i can see why he would want to go for the win in the bottom of the 9th. But why not go with Bazardo in the 10th then if that was the case? And, more significantly, why would they even have Snider using up a roster spot?
