So if it isn't bad enough that we've got a lineup that is incapable of scoring more than three runs (six straight games and counting), we bat the guy having the worst season in franchise history leadoff and pull our best starting pitcher after five dominant innings just to placate the guy making the most money. Gosh, shocking how it turned out tonight. No other team does shit like this.

And of course, the other shoe drops and the Angels blow an 11-4 lead to the A'ss.

This game let the air out of my balloon.

We're back to the top of the GT List. Darren is up. Is this the 3rd time through?

I'm 5th. I'd like it to take until the end of July before my next turn.

If the Seattle Mariners lose tomorrow, it's back to .500.

That's unacceptable Jerry Dipoto. Holland, it's deplorable. Time for something dramatic, team and culture changing.

We need a new dynamic, a new paradigm. Trade Julio. Trade Cal. Trade Miller, Gilbert and/or Kirby. Of course, throw Castillo into any trade.

Reboot. Get some others' prime meat, AAA guys on the edge of top 4 in other's organizations.

Put them on the field. If the finish line this season is 70-92, go for it. Let 'em grow. Losing is nothing new to us fans. Lose dramatically and go into 2027 with youth and hunger.
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

To make matters worse Angels blow a massive lead against As. Wow would love to play in minor league park.

And there's your Mariners move, Weston Wilson. I knew they'd come up with an addition nobody would be particularly happy with. They really seem to be in a predicament with their roster construction. Left handed pitching has become dominant these days and they don't have a response. They will keep rolling out Refsnyderh and digging up guys like Wilson to counter

Taking out your best starting pitcher after 66 pitches so that you can let your worst pitch 4 innings is beyond asinine. If they must do this piggybacking thing, why do it with Miller? How about Kirby or Hancock?
They are doing it with all of them, that's the new plan isn't it. It's going to rotate
Ok but I wanna know - Is Luis the permanent piggy, or is the piggy the guy who's game he'll come in to lose? If that is the plan, then stick a fork in the M's, they're done.

Me too, Rocky. I felt like showering after that game!!! Geesh, I hope M's don't bottle and sell their insanity.

The team probably could use a jolt. The pitching fuckery has to change. We need to bring in a special hitting instructor, apparently Edgar and Ichiro aren't rubbing off. And the platooning idiocy is like arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, they way Wilson insists upon it as the team fails. Failure on top of failure.

So how is it supposed to work now ..
The club is bringing back the tandem tactic, but it will now feature all six of their starters -- as each among that group will appear in the front end or back end of a piggyback from now through the All-Star break.

“Each guy will be a participant for one day,” Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said on Tuesday. “So roughly everyone will sacrifice an inning or two innings over the next 30 days, and it keeps everybody on normal rest.”
The schedule and off-days between now and then -- just under a full month -- slot out so there will be three such outings, the first coming this Friday vs. the Red Sox at T-Mobile Park.
And based on rest schedules, it just so happens that the original tandem will have the first go, as Bryce Miller will start and Luis Castillo will follow in relief. Bryan Woo will start Thursday’s series finale against the Orioles and remain on his regular turn, the last spot among the straight six-man rotation.
That would leave a combination of Woo, Logan Gilbert, Emerson Hancock and George Kirby to account for the other two piggyback outings -- though the Mariners haven’t said yet who will go when and how on those
Well that seems pretty simple. And you shouldn't see the Miller - Castillo tandem again for awhile. What an odd deal. Reminds me of the wacky deal LaRussa came up with when he managed the A's. You can't say the mariners don't come up with some strange stuff

Thanks, Donn, I hadn't really researched everything before spouting off, but that's not unusual. So, This means the PB will be occasional, that's a relief (pun intended).

On PB days, everybody buy a sixer of PBR and sacrifice one to the Baseball Gods and plead for intervention.

It's what I'm here for lol ...it is weird. Looking at that, it won't really happen that often. I think starting it up again with Miller and Castillo had a dramatic affect. That and hitting Rysnyder leadoff, that was truly a weird game
