It seems a little odd to me they called up Joe instead of Emerson. This seemed like their opportunity. Donovan could get outfield reps

I shouldn't say surprised, they didn't want to appear desperate. But whats the big deal. They give Donovan a break at 3rd, maybe give the team a spark. They return Emerson to the minors once Robles is healthy if they want. I know it's not how it's done. There has to be this big deal about his promotion. Give me a break, he's not ready now but six weeks from now he will be. Another fifty at bats and that does it. If they don't pick the proper point he's going to be ruined.
