Not clear if it is 2 x $8M or $8M total?

I think it is 2X4M because it is 2 for 8M with a 250K buyout of a 3rd year. ANd Fuck you JD.
Selby or whateber his name is has a 72 OPS+ career vs Murphy who had a 116 OPS+ with us.

Hope Dipoto is working on some trades.

Starting to remind me of last year when no good hitters came hat in hand looking for contracts besides Pollock and La Stella.

These good hitters have options, they're not going to slum it to be underpaid in Seattle's blackhole of a ballpark.

Not many difference makers left on the market.

Even Bellinger as our MOTO hitter is pretty weak.

Pretty bad spot they've let themselves get in by ignoring free agent bats the last several years. Now their back's against the wall.

I could be Happy with Bellinger as the big name along with Hoskins and a one of the many bats we could add in trading of a pitcher. But Bellinger is a huge risk.

Unfortunately is an understatement. Everybody gets this. And if there is someone alive that follows the Mariners and doesn’t get it well stupid is as stupid does.

At this point in the history of this team to be so careless with our window of contention and in such a shitty way I almost don’t give a fuck if they spend $30 M. It will never amount to shit

That's about how I feel..

In my opinion their window has been open for three years and they've squandered it all away. The Rangers proved what happens when you actually add the players.

Now, even if Dipoto has $30M to spend, it's likely that he spreads it across 4 or 5 average players who look below average in Seattle.

Just frustrating and hard to root for them when the best they're coming with is guys like Pollock and La Stella five years after their prime.

Dipoto just doesn't seem to know how to get it done.

Yup. Jerston has taken the next step but is floundering the finishing touches. I agree he doesn’t seem capable of completing the puzzle. And add in a complete Scrooge who can fuck up a chocolate Sunday and we need a new owner who can take the necessary additional money step before this window closes…….
