26/4 Game Thread Castilllo v Gillispie
As usual i ain't doing a middle-of-the-nighter for a Saturday night game. Madness.
Tonight we face Connor Gillispie. 32 Major League innings under his belt having been at Cleveland last season as a reliever. 5 starts this season, 5 innings is his usual outing. 12 ER in his last two starts so he is clearly going for a no-hitter today.
Hope you can work out the game date, I always struggle when its written in US format, even though yours is clearly logical to have the month first.
Go Ms

Still have the automatic out in the first inning leading off. Julio has got to be like 1-12 in that spot. At least JP might draw a walk or drop in a duckfart.

Sorry but this is just absurd. Brash pitched IN A GAME in Spring training & he is still F-ing around in Tacoma going to pitch for the FIFTH & SIXTH time while the M's are so desperate for relievers they are sending Casey freaking Lawrence out for 100 pitches in a winnable game.

Hollander says the next phase of his rehab is putting him in game like situations. WTF are you talking about, he is literally pitching in professional baseball games you clown. These guys think they are so smart. Dopes.

I would imagine Brash is less than two weeks away. I don't mind them trying to be thorough on his rehab given that he missed an entire year. He's had four appearances for Tacoma so far and he's given up some hits and runs, so he's probably still working stuff out.

The two runs he gave up were when he gave up a hit and a walk and then was pulled and the next guy gave up HR. He is throwing 97mph. Even a limited version of him is better than Lawrence. It has been a Month since he first pitched in a game in Peoria.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 7:04 pmI would imagine Brash is less than two weeks away. Per MLB rumors
Losing Gilbert for any period of time is a tough blow for the Mariners. Thankfully, however, he seems to have avoided the worst. He exited his most recent start with the always ominous-sounding “forearm tightness,” and the M’s anxiously awaited the results of his MRI. Yet, his injury has been diagnosed as a Grade 1 (a.k.a. mild) strain. According to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com, the righty will be shut down for two weeks before being re-evaluated. While there is no timeline for his return, Gilbert seems optimistic. He told reporters (including Kramer) that the injury wasn’t “really bad” and said he feels “better today already than I did yesterday.”

This is why you go after good hitters in the offseason. Did they REALLY think that our five guys would make it through the whole season, let alone put up the same numbers as they did in 2024?
