6/29 GT Let's see if we can not throw another game away to the Rump Rangers

It's a miracle that we're not trying to avert a sweep here, and I have to say this about Wilson: he does visibly stupid things much more often than Servais did.
Just the last two days alone he's made really dumb moves involving D-Mo, and Polanco should have been in the lineup instead of Solano yesterday.
Castillo (who I think will do well here) going against a horrible pitcher in Leiter, who we'll probably make look like he's doing well.
Lineups to follow. Let's go out there, knock these bums down, and fart on their heads.

Let's hope so David. The closer we are to Houston the more pressure to make some kind of move to improve the team.
Deadline is quickly approaching. We need a bat. We need a bullpen arm. Will the Mariners wait until the last moment?
Pick up what's left? Or go out and be proactive? Supposedly Jerry has money and flexibility! lol.
You get what you pay for.
Polanco, Solano, Tellez, Taveras, Garver, I'm going to add Randy and Moore now to that list...aging players on the end of their careers that every once in a while show sparks of what they were.
We just waste good money on mediocre players and that is exactly the kind of offense we have. Mediocre.
Can't win a championship with that.
Question? Would you guys trade Castillo at the deadline if you could bring back an impact bat???

Arozarena was definitely a one-year too late guy, and Tampa Bay knew it. He's slugging .395 this season instead of his usual .450 and it's rodiculous how often he swings and misses at fastballs over the heart of the plate. He's getting on base via the walk which is nice, but he needs to hit the ball too.
I'd trade Castillo, but his value probably isn't that great. He's no better for us than he was for the Reds even though his home games are in the best pitchers' park in baseball.
As for D-Mo, he's a guy who hits just above the Mendoza Line with some pop and defensive versatility. Even if he starts off hot, he'll eventually end up there.
Really should've had D-Mo bunting yesterday. Why not play that way in extras on the road? We're more than capable of making that hold up if the runner ends up scoring.

Not sure how trading Castillo would get us an impact bat. Only a playoff team would be adding someone like Castillo, and what playoff team would give up an impact bat to get Castillo now?

Nobody, I'd think. About the only purpose trading Castillo could serve is salary relief and you'd get at best decent prospects in return, maybe one good bullpen arm.

Mitch Garver back in the lineup.
So thankful he didn't go on IL. Could you imagine? Where would the Mariners be without Mitch Garver?

Come on JP, dude hangs one right in the middle of the strike zone and you look at it for strike 3.
And then Leiter makes ANOTHER mistake right down the middle and Arozarena whiffs.

If I remember correctly, Leiter threw hard for like 3 innings the last time and then lost all his gas.

I like how they showed a Harry Ford highlight right as Garver came up to bat.

4 Ks in 1 2/3 innings against a guy who averages 4 Ks and 5 2/3 innings per start. You can't make this shit up.
