Good list. I would go with Cole over Andy though.

I thought about “Manny” players: Cole, Dustin P, K-Rod, A Jones, David Wright, etc.

I don't think any of the first time candidates ever make the hall. Hammels is the closest but 59 WAR, 163 Wins, a 3.42 ERA and 2500 K's is really not enough in my opinion. He has very similar numbers to Felix. Hamels has a bit More WAR but Felix has A Cy young and a couple of ERA titles which Hammels doesn't have. Felix only got 20% of the vote in his first year and I doubt either of them ever gets in.

For the returning guys, The needle is just not moving on the steroid guys. A-Rod, Manny and Pettite are not going to get in this year for sure and likely not ever.

My prediction is that Beltran is the Lone Inductee this year. I think Jones gets close this year and then gets in on his final chance next season. No one else will be close to being elected this year.

Good assessment. Hopefully there is a better crop of 1st timers next year to make it interesting.

If Choo doesn't get in this year it's a travesty.

Choo put up -0.3 WAR for the Mariners before being traded for Ben Broussard who put up -0.7 WAR for the Mariners.

Choo went on to up up 35.0 WAR in his career and make $147M. Ben was out of baseball the following season. Bavasi had to be the worst GM in history.

Yep. Bavasi also traded Eduardo Perez who put up -0.9 WAR for us for Asdrubal Cabrera who put up 30 WAR in his career. So that is -1.6 WAR for 65 WAR in two trades.
