Talk about a diamond in the rough. Hegert had a 196 ERA+ last season posting 3.0 WAR and a 2.48 ERA playing at Coors!!! 3.32 FIP

This is my third or fourth Ms game in person this spring.
Granted, “it’s only Spring Training” and “our boys are at WBC” but some of these hitters. Yeesh.

And pitchers ….

But, last year’s spring training was like bad and they almost went to the WS. So hopefully everyone rocks it out after March and beyond.

Can’t argue with that too much, unless you’re in the boat with Laz or the new guy Davis. Or Farmello. :D

Good thing spring stats dont matter or we wouldnt be able to field a team.

Guessing they'll say Cole Young's matter though.

And he has looked pretty good, didnt look like a little sissy on that homerun he hit.

But spring performance will matter for some, and not for others. Pretty funny.

ST is not about statistical results, especially in Cole Young's case. He was told pretty explicitly that if he gets a fastball in the zone he had better be swinging at it. He was told that it didn't matter all that much what the result was (I'm sure it matters a little though). For Young, who got eaten alive last year by fastballs, it has everything to do with pitch recognition. Once he started to see the fastball, his natural talent took over and we get some great results. He just has to carry this forward into the regular season.
