George Kirby (2-2, 3.25 ERA) v Nathan Eovaldi (2-2, 5.40 ERA)

Start time 4:15 PM PDT (12:15 AM BST Sunday morning).

St. George's Day isn't until 23rd April, but maybe our George can make it come early and stop this rot. I might even be brave enough to wave the controversial George Cross flag in the street at 3am if he can do it.

Think of the St. George’s Cross as England’s version of the Confederate Flag—its the flag of England and should be a symbol of English pride but has been deemed unsuitable by the politically correct brigade. You will see it in droves at the World Cup in the summer though. But that’s why my avatar is the Union Flag (not the Union Jack); it’s the 'safe' way to be patriotic without anyone suggesting I'm racist.

* "Stop the Bleeding" is a double-entendre. In the UK, we also use "bleeding" as a more jokey way of saying "bloody" (as in, "this bleeding weather" or "this bleeding team", "that bleeding third base coach"). So whilst I'm officially asking Kirby to stop the losing streak—to us it reads as, "Stop the bloody game thread!"

Go You Bleeding Mariners!

Love it and well said!
Not knowing who St. George was, I read about him on Wiki. Seems to be a bit known and a lot unknown about him. Then, I took a left turn and went with the alternative legend.

May our own St. George prevail today.
Apparently, there was also a St. (Luke) Kirby. Fitting, except he he was drawn and quartered, supposedly for "high treason".

Maybe some similarities to the confederate flag, I guess albeit I dont know the full story behind that one.

Over the years, Nationlistic groups have hijacked the flag for their causes - the National Front in the 70s being the most notable.

Strange that we dont celebrate our flag like you guys. We should its actually a great flag... :D

Understand the confederate flag was about a rebellion against the United States. It's interesting that the same folks that declare themselves to be the most patriotic about America at the same time will celebrate a rebellion against it

Probably less than 1% of the US and only in the South celebrate the Confederate flag.

Have to win tonight. Facing a tough lefty horrible lefty lineup tomorrow gotta win 1 of these games. This team has to wake up kick its ass into gear. Degrom left in the 4th inning yesterday and did absolute shit to the pen. True embarrassment. Enough is enough. GET YOUR ASSES INTO GEAR.

Shocker they drive in shocker. Great small ball work. Much needed!!!

Leadoff walks of course. Damnnn it Kirby. His control is not good anymore.

Damnnn quick outs ughhhh damnnn it. Need more runs!!!!
