1. Not only do we strike out way too much but we strike out ugly on pitches out of the zone
2. We are a poor defensive team. Particularly in the outfield. It’s like we have a bunch of mediocre DH’s that have to play out there
3. We seem to refuse to play small ball when runs are at a premium
4. I don’t know if it’s on the pitcher or catcher but we are too easy to steal on
5. Our pen is incomplete with too many minor leaguers
6. Our “Studs” are horribly inconsistent
7. Our bench/role players appear to be the worse in baseball
8. We are undisciplined with soft field management which appear to focus on enabling rather than accountability
9. The whole is worse than the sum of its parts
Bottom Line: Management is responsible for horrible roster construction and frugality. What I also believe is that it’s very fixable with some bold moves rather than our something approach

This whole (right on the money) post could have been in the pussies thread, but there are many different ways to say the Mariners suck, so keep new Mariners Suck threads coming.AZOldDawg wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2026 5:27 pm1. Re: Broken Record Observations
They don't suck, they are just mediocre. It's dull, boring baseball. They probably be more interesting if they did suck. I think a lot has to do with post Cal MVP season come down. He's more than regressed and nobody else stepped up. Last season we had one of the game's most exciting players ever, this season nothing. Nobody is very interesting, particularly with the pitching staff. I was hoping maybe MVP type season out of Julio or a SY type of one out of Woo but nobody has put together a particularly interesting season. That's really disappointing after last season

Re: Broken Record Observations
How about this...is it possible they win the division with a sub .500 record? Could that be something to get excited about?
