Did this as a separate post because its a huge trade, otherwise I would have used the ongoing trade deadline thread

Worth its own thread for sure.

They got a top OF prospect in baseball and a pitcher who despite being 28, is in the top 100 as he's had numerous arm injuries but TOR stuff. They also got a young pitcher with really high K/9's.

It's a lot to give up for a rental... but I doubt they care.

Teams like the Brewers can't really afford to make moves like this.

Sickening. Hope his elbow completely blows up this time.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about?

What was stopping the Brewers, Braves, White Sox, what have you... from offering a better package? The package wasn't even that good.

The Mets are in the same stratosphere $$ wise as the Dodgers and they stink. Same with the Yankees who despite spending an ass ton of $$, aren't that good.

Do I think there needs to be a salary cap and floor? Yes. But you can't deny the Dodgers are far and away the model franchise. They have a top 2 farm in baseball year in and out and they spend $$. A dream if you're a fan.

Even if the league imposed a $300M cap and say a $200M floor... the Dodgers would still be the best team in baseball by a long shot because they do it right.

Looks like the Tigers got crap.
