He wrote a column about two female athletes that didn't want to compete against biological males and the times refused to print it. I'm canceling my $20 monthly subscription when I get home. I was trying to figure out why I spend that much and this is a great excuse to save 20 bucks a month.

There you go Gil, another example of how the democrats (and nobody can argue that the Seattle Times is a severely left leaning paper) are trying to hid thier ideas that men should play in women's sports.

Seems my critique of the writers in Seattle might be off a bit. They can't print what they want, so they have to print the bullshit that we are forced to read. Remember when it was news? Now someone is creating what they want you to THINK is news. Such bullshit. But? Are we shocked that a city that voted in a part time barista that lives at home as their mayor would support a "News" paper like that?

As opposed to what? You think Fox is going to allow a columnist to publish articles on the joys of diversity? Every outlet caters to their readers, particularly these days

gawd dammit DT. can we put it in the Seahawks too? I already put this in politics.
The thing that struck me is; I always considered Calkins to be a woke libtard wanna be activist and
strongly disliked his out of the blue liberal spins on the Seahawks culture etc.
He was definitely one of theirs, or at least trying to be, much of the time. I'm saying he had to have
had a strong common sense conviction to quit over not being able to print that piece.
I may have been wrong. lol

But his view reflects 80% of everyone, including Seattle Times readers. Only avowed Marxists, sexual deviants and psychopaths support "trans females" in women's sports.

then the times loses...they are banking for all the subscriptions they lose, ie dtrain from losing Calkins they would lose more by printing his comments

I really do admire Calkins for quiting. Man, journalism is about the toughest racket around these days to make a living. For him to give up a secure position like that. I have a friend, she was a featured columnist for the TNT. She went to law school in her spare time and bailed. We would talk about how dead end newspapers are these days career wise
