How does Brian Woo manage a 1.08 Whip and a 4.10 ERA. Seems like those stats should correlate a little better.
He is 12th in baseball in WHIP and 43rd in ERA.
Nick Martinez is right behind him with a 1.10 Whip and has a 2.93 ERA.
You have to go all the way down to Noah Cameron who is 32nd in WHIP before you find another pitcher with an ERA over 4.00.

August 26, 2026 Aaron Nola (5-10) took the loss Tuesday against the Mariners after allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out seven over six innings. Pretty solid pitching performance by the Phillie star but not good enough to get a win. So today's early getaway game finds the M's matched up against a strong left hand starter. The M's have been terrible against left hand starters this entire season. They appear slightly stronger right now with recent additions.....Paredes instead of Garver, Pitch count wrecker, Taylor Ward, a healthy JP Crawford who does stand in against lefty pitching, and other hitters showing some success recently, Canzone, Raleigh, and Naylor. I expect to see Wilson at third today, Raleigh at the DH, and Paredes catching. Woo has been shaky lately.... with an extra day or two of rest, can he rebound the way Kirby did yesterday? Who knows?

We are not out of August yet, we still have road games against Toronto and the Red Sox looming before us.

Well, it's a pretty righty strong lineup....eight players hitting from the right....think I'd rather have Raleigh further down the lineup.... but I like the names in there... Ward will look at pitches from the lead off spot, Wisdom takes over first instead of Naylor, Wilson takes third base.... Only JP Crawford will be standing in the box on the left side. I'd like to see Wisdom and Wilson go deep today....Canzone, Naylor coming off the bench...

Yeah, 55.5% of the lineup weren't here on opening day.
Great to give a bunch of overachievers the day off as a reward for their collective accomplishments.
Pretty close to Dipoto's 54%.

It's a Mariner thing. Wasn't Gilbert's like the biggest discrepancy in the Majors the last two years?
