Seems like everything we talk about here comes to pass within a couple days lately.

I go with this. Although one would guess they are probably great mates and it's jobs for the boys again.

Next season the objective must be to challenge for the division.

We are a long way off that right now. 15.5 games off in fact. No harm in having a sacrificial lamb by your side just in case we go back towards .500 when his master plan fails. Oakland, Texas and Anaheim will all be better next year so the chances are we won't be as strong in the Division.

These job titles are silly. Jerry might as well promote himself to "Supreme Commander of the Universe".

Good points, it does seem weird to me that Jerry Dipoto was handed the keys to the castle before ever winning anything.

Now they've made the playoffs once, in expanded format, and people are going to act like they actually are the Supreme Commanders of the Universe.

You already see the Servais for manager of the year posts. Yeah, congratulations on getting the bare minimum out of your players to get in while most of your players have underperformed.

We're making the playoffs more because so many other teams were unexpectedly bad (like Boston, Minnesota, and the White Sox) and didn't make it than because we were good.

Yet these guys somehow rule the roost for the foreseeable future now.

It's nice to see them make the playoffs- they should have made it last season also- but they need to start making better personnel decisions.

For example you can't still be putting Frazier and Winker and Toro in the game when they haven't performed by this point in the season.

Huh, I been wondering about giving him the actual title. It's not like things are going to change. This is how it's been run I'm sure since dipoto got his new contract. They made Hollander vice president and asst. GM back then. Now they are giving him the actual title

The roles do seem convoluted.

Servais and Dipoto having daily pow wows to determine the lineups.

Hollander and Dipoto likely making personnel decisions in tandem as well.

Basically, Dipoto wants to run everything, but he's more than willing to lay titles on these other guys.

I don't even blame him, I'd do the same. Just, different, obviously.
