Re: Muñoz
Bumping this thread. So, what are we thinking about Andrés Muñoz?
His next game will be number 200 so a fair sample size is now in and ready for analysis.
WAR 4.3
W-L 10-20
ERA 2.65
G 199
BF 792
SV 40
IP 197.0
HR 15
BB 76
HBP 12
K 271
WHIP 1.046
What worries me is how he does against that first batter. Yesterday he walked him having been 1-2. Even Kelenic wouldn't have swung at the 2-2
His first batter stats are
BF 199 (AB 174)
H 30
HR 3
HBP 4
BB 19
K 63
OBP first batter .266
I just think if he can get that first out more effectively we are talking a closer who is absolutely from the top drawer. I like him a lot, but he doesn't half make you shit your pants when he steps up for that first batter.

Re: Munoz
What a bad pitcher, he has twice as many losses as he does wins.
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo

Re: Muñoz
When you have stuff as good as his you should challenge the hitter with 2 strikes. The hitter is expecting a waste pitch in the dirt so won't swing. Shock him with 100mph in the zone.mostonmike wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 10:55 amBumping this thread. So, what are we thinking about Andrés Muñoz?

OK, love Muney even if he still walks too many guys, BUTTTT wtf is this random dude doing with a media credential?
So the M's are now just giving any rando with a podcast or a substack (cough ben ranieri cough) a credential now? No journalism school needed? No ethics training needed? No company support?
So stupid
Re: Munoz
The Marine Layer Podcast has produced more than 200 episodes. Lyle Goldstein and TJ Mathewson attended high school in the Seattle area and are graduates of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 9:24 pmOK, love Muney even if he still walks too many guys, BUTTTT wtf is this random dude doing with a media credential?

In the old days Goldstein and Mathewson would be cutting their teeth at the Idaho Statesman but today the relatively inexperienced pair can reach a broad audience via the internet. They're negotiating the learning curve, perhaps without the benefit of an editor.

Seems like the majority of your posts here are just drive by insults. Call everyone morons, then come back a week or month later to do it all over again.

Re: Munoz
I thought he wasn't too bad to be fair on the podcast.
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5733. Don't know if the episodes are still available?
His criticism of Marine Layer might lie in the fact that he didn't become a podcast millionaire himself? I am surprised him and DT didn't push on with their podcast. There was definitely potential in it.
Tin-hats on everyone.
