Revisting selected front office moves
REPLACING TEOSCAR HERNANDEZ WITH MITCH HANIGER: There's no reason why this had to happen. Even if Hernandez duplicated 2023, that's WAY better than what Haniger's corpse is doing, and he's been a corpse for almost three seasons now. Hernandez is on pace for a 4.3 WAR, Haniger - 0.3. That is literally 4 1/2 games flushed down the toilet. What really did the Mariner organization think Haniger was going to do? And if we were going to trade Robbie Ray, we really couldn't have done better than this?
REPLACING EUGENIO SUAREZ WITH JOSH ROJAS & LUIS URIAS: Suarez was clearly on the decline, so he had to go. But to replace him with THAT garbage? Urias of course proved again that his career is over, and Rojas has shown us why the Diamondbacks had no problem sending him packing.
REPLACING TOM MURPHY WITH SEBY ZAVALA: Murph has missed almost the entire season with injury. Zavala his missed almost the entire season with suckage.
REPLACING TY FRANCE WITH JUSTIN TURNER: I just don't get why anyone thought that this was a good idea. Turner was having a bad season for the Blue Jays and is the classic one-year-too-late player that Jerry DiPoto loves. Turner is an older and slower version of France.
TRADING JOSE CABALLERO FOR LUKE RALEY: this should have been a better trade than it's turned out to be. At least Caballero has remained the player he was with us while Raley has not so we got the short end of that one.
SIGNING MITCH GARVER: This is probably the stupidest free-agent signing in the history of the franchise just because of how stupid it was at the time. The man was 0-32 in his career at T-Mobile Park. WHY would you sign someone like that? Shockingly, he's batting .146 at T-Mobile Park this season. And oh, by the way, .183 on the road.
TRADING FOR JORGE POLANCO: nothing wrong with the acquisition, but in addition to everything else, second base has been the place good careers go to die three straight years now. I'll bet that at no other time in MLB history has this specific thing ever happened at any position on any team.
TRADING FOR RANDY AROZARENA AND YIMI GARCIA: good trades, solid player and bullpen arm, but they're barely going to move the needle and overall the front office blew it in July.
This franchise is stupid.

Re: Revisting selected front office moves
It’s just a hard team to get behind. Get a real hitting coach one with success because whatever they’re doing is not working at all. I was watching an interview with Greg Maddox and Barry Bonds yesterday. The good ones always think when they’re up in the box and I don’t think anyone on that team really thinks at all. Trades never work for this team. And I swear that the other teams know that they’re going to get the better of the deal with Jerry at the Helm. You can’t base everything on pitching yes, they’ve got very good pitching staff, but they’re so pitch heavy and they don’t have enough quality bats. Every chance the last two years to get good players in the field, and they decided against it and they want to stuff it down their throats.

I don't ever want to hear another stupid fucking complaint about a 128 OPS+ hitter coming in and flopping until the park becomes more neutral. Batting eye, close the f-ing roof. I don't give a fuck. It is not the players it is the fucking Park. HOF Adriane fucking Beltre was fucking Dilly god dam Moore in Seattle.
Blow that fucking park up.
Re: Revisting selected front office moves
No way Teo would have come back here but they flushed a draft pick because they were irrationally phobic about him accepting the QO.

Re: Revisting selected front office moves
Its not like this is the first time either. 95% of all the moves that the M's have made with the offense have been like this since Jerry Got here. I mean what is his biggest success that he can put on his resume in regards to making moves for the offense? JP with 16.3 WAR in 6 seasons is really about it. Haniger had some decent years putting up 15.3 WAR but they gave up Ketel Marte to get him who has put up 27.9 WAR for the Diamondbacks.
Re: Revisting selected front office moves
Best thing that happened for ketel Martes career… would be interesting to see an alternative reality of what happens with Marte, Haniger, Walker.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 3:33 pmIts not like this is the first time either. 95% of all the moves that the M's have made with the offense have been like this since Jerry Got here. Exactly and the whole world knew that but Stanton thought he would just love to come back to Seattle on a one year prove it deal. Idiot.
