2023 Draft Day Highlights

Post by Walla Walla Dawg II » Fri Apr 28, 2023 3:17 pm

3 highlights for me:

1: getting our choice of cornerbacks. Although we desperately needed world-class help on the D-line and Edge, I will take another lock-down corner. This tandem may very well be the best in the league in the 2024 season.

2: getting our choice of wide receivers. Locket is getting old, but still getting the job done. But for how long? It's nice to know that we shouldn't have to worry about WR for several years.

1: the Bud Light commercial. I am assuming all those people on the Bud Light commercial were of the "Trans" variety. My wife and I watched it several times and couldn't tell, but we knew they had to be.....and really appreciated how they "fit" into society.

What were y'all's highlights of day 1?

Was great they didn't trade down at all even though I predicted they would.

The headlines in the Times were great:
Once again, Seahawks go unexpected route on first day of NFL draft | Larry Stone

Seahawks pull shocker, take Illinois CB Devon Witherspoon at No. 5 in 2023 NFL draft
JS said over and over and over he was taking BPA yet everyone is shocked.

I'm pretty simple in grading the football draft, and when you have the first pick in a position group, you do it right.
They seem to have done it right. I expect a lot out of both of these players this season.

It was reported that the Cardinals would still have taken Paris Johnson Jr. at #3 and the Colts certainly weren‘t going to move off of Anthony Richardson which means that the Texans essentially traded in front of the Seahawks for Will Anderson. This would suggest he was probably plan A for PCJS at #5.
