The thing that bothers me about the amount of high draft picks they have used on RB the past 5 years is that they have neglected building up an interior O line to block for them. I would prefer they build the line first and go with later round talent at RB than keep using 1st or 2nd rounders and then hoping they stay healthy when they have to run through more contact because the interior line can't get any push. Plus, the linemen have an important role on every snap, not just running plays. Pretty simple logic here.

Yeah I can totally see that. They clearly disagree and their position is pretty unconventional.

He's bigger, so there's a bit of an optical illusion at work. Taller people look slower.
Google says 4.53. Not super fast for a pro athlete, but basically the same as
Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs and Nick Chubb.

We finished above .500 last season and made the playoffs. Then Maxed out the Salary Cap with significant additions and Have massive Draft capital for this draft. I don't think the expectation is still rebuilding....Maybe still rebuilding the DL but as you mentioned there aren't any black holes just a lack of depth.

I think they are turning over the roster like they did when they first came in and took over - just not to that extent - they already had some pieces in place so it is not a total purge, but there needed to be a major talent upgrade up and down the roster in order to compete at the next level and that is what they are doing - getting closer to elite. To do they they need to get younger and faster and grow together. I didn't like the day two picks - not with that center from Minnesota sitting there - but the picks the made make total sense. I wanted interior lineman on both sides - but they went differently and got very solid players. They'll probably get bodies for the interior coming up, but so far, even though it's not playing out how I would have wanted, it's hard to argue with the upgrades they are making - and an RB is an upgrade - the backfield needs major depth just out of attrition we see every year. Smart moves so far. I still was hoping for anderson or carter - any interior monster - but even though the defense may not be as formidable up front as I would hope - they are probably better than last year already - the new LOB will be fierce and likely the best in the league, and the offense is likely to be even more potent. #progress

Funny I am ok with the picks and you aren't. Bizzaro world. I do get it though. Another RB in the second round and another Edge to throw on the pile but if you are going to go BPA then you have to stick with that philosophy.

hahah - no, I am totally fine with the picks - they make perfect sense - it wasn't my preferred direction - but I 100% support who they chose. I can separate my own preferences from what they did and objectively agree with what they did. That linebacker may be a game changer, and really, all the guys they picked could be. The roster is getting serious upgrades - thank you cringeruss!

No, it shows that we could have got the same production taking this guy in the 5th round and picking a G or C in the second round.

fundamentally, I agree, but the Seahawks have invested a first (#9 overall) and two early thirds to the O-line in the past 3 years. As much as they like to run the ball, you have to look at RBs when you have a shot at QUALITY backs like Walker and Charbonnet. Penny and Michael were reaches and not needed, but we only had Penny last year, and only had Walker this year, so they needed RBs. In fact, they need another one this year still.
