Re: OTA thread 5 things to watch
So we're supposed to believe that because he's a reglar, down-home kind'a gah that all the other players are going to play exter' hard for him to show thur 'preciation? Gotta love the off-season...

Re: OTA thread 5 things to watch
Or we could have a QB that cared more for his contract than the team. One that checked down instead of throwing it to DK, so he can get that completion bonus.
Yeah, love Geno. Rather go to Sam. Geno lead us where???

I think the bigger issue is that is now our choice? At least he's not Geno? I have zero faith in Darnold. The guy has had one good season ever, and even in that season he fell completely flat on his face in the last game when they were trying to win the division and the next week in the WC round.

Ditto. I have zero faith in Darnold as an above average QB. I think we're only going to win 8 games this year, if that.Michael K. wrote: ↑Mon Jun 16, 2025 3:59 pmI think the bigger issue is that is now our choice? At least he's not Geno? Remind what has Geno done? How many playoffs did he lead us to? How did he elevate the team? What was his playoff record? 0-1!Michael K. wrote: ↑Mon Jun 16, 2025 3:59 pmI think the bigger issue is that is now our choice? At least he's not Geno? I have zero faith in Darnold. We were a marginal team with check down Charlie. Millen did a phenomenal breakdown of his throws. We were going nowhere with Geno. Go a different direction. Or stay with checkdown Geno.
Re: OTA thread 5 things to watch
And Geno’s 2 tds and 2 turnovers in the playoff game was spectacular. Why not go with a younger cheaper version than a guy who’s first thought Is their short. Oh and had 15 picks.
We were going nowhere with Geno. He proved that over and over. Go in different direction and draft a QB.

Re: OTA thread 5 things to watch
I don’t think Sam is the answer-but there is a chance He could be, but Geno has proven he isn’t the answer. I’d rather go in a different way than the same old Geno.

Re: OTA thread 5 things to watch
If you think Sam and Geno are much different than I hope you are right. Go watch Darnold against Detroit and then watch Geno against Detroit. Don't take this as me advocating for Geno, my point was it has come to this....we are happy with a guy because he isn't Geno. There is ZERO evidence to suggest that Sam is going to be better, without T Lock and DK to boot.
We could be a better football team, but I believe that will come from a vast improvement in the run game and continued improvement from the momentum the defense had to finish last year. There are many things that I believe could make this team better....Sam Darnold isn't one that I am counting on.

I guess one of these guys will rise to the occasion. Or none of them.

Re: OTA thread 5 things to watch
I think the key could be replacing Grubb with kubiak rather than replacing Geno with Darnold. I'm hoping that it improves the Oline performance. If they can pull off what I believe they are after Darnold would be more of a game manager type than Geno was. I think it could be interesting, the comparison to how Pete uses Geno in Las Vegas with Chip Kelly as the oc. He seems more the Grubb kind of guy
