What a team effort

Post by D-train » Sat Dec 20, 2025 1:40 am

Walker: Two great runs. The long TD run and the 15 yarder to get a 1st down on 3rd and 15. Something that never happens. And the long screen pass on the first possession.

Charbs: The 1st TD and the dumb luck of converting the weirdest 2 point conversion in NFL history

Sam: After two horrific picks, tightened up his jock strap and came up HUGE on the tying TD drive and the OT TD drive.

JSN: After a nothing first half turned it on and put up 100+ yards in the second half including the game tying TD.

Barner: Great clutch TD catch

Saubert: Looked like an easy catch but for a guy that never catches passes to catch one in the most important play of the season, that was huge.

OLine: Gave up a couple sacks but came through when it counted

Defense: After looking like the last couple PC defenses went on shut down mode in the 4th Quarter making the win possible.

Talk about a total team effort. I think that really brings a team together when every guy on the team knows they are needed if the team is going to be the Best it can be.

And their not even done yet. As Pete once said after his Orange Bowl victory, "we're just getting started". More Max Protection & your good. That should of been obvious from the get go. 6-7 blockers like come on. How many drops did we have. If Coop isn't careless with that ball he doesn't fumble. Lots of little things. Sam still turnover prone. Lots of little things to fix. Nothing is a sure thing. No pass rush last night so why not drop 7-8 into coverage. Bracket Puka all night like seriously. Nick E on Colby all night. I don't think I would of blitzed once. No zone all man. I'd be dropping DL too. I mean it's too obvious with a guy like Stafford.

I'm okay with some man coverage, but overall, I'm glad you aren't calling the defense.

Yep. I consider Shaheed's punt return to be the catalyst that turned the entire game around.

I know you mentioned OL but Josh Jones deserves some major props himself. The fact that we barely heard Jared Verse's name all night was amazing. course it helped that Rams held the ball most of the time, but still. i noticed Zabel getting beat a lot more than Jones was.

It was an easy catch for Saubert, and an easy throw by Darnold, but they were easy because Saubert did a great job of executing what was a very well designed play. Selling the block there allowed him to slip into the endzone virtually uncovered. I'm still thrilled that is the play they saved for that moment. I wonder how much they can work off of that now? No one is going to let them have a TE block then slip into coverage, but if you know have to have a Defender assigned to a TE that is blocking?
