They are going to lose some guys for sure, but they will get some comp picks back. Looks like teh Shaheed trade kinda 'bought' us a Super Bowl. I am still in shock that happened this year - it still feels surreal. As much as I like shaheed and what he brings - he is not essential. Walker may be more important, but his highlight reel only came together when CHarbonnet went down. Love to have him back, but someone else will likely overpay him. This team has a solid core. Lambs just made that trade for that CB from KC - not even sure if he fits the scheme there but they gave up a lot of draft capital to get him so I love that. Turd McVey 'going all in' again. I'll bet this is the year Stafford gets injured and that team crumbles. Hey, A guy can dream, right?

If walker can find a better offer good for him. This is one of the things I admire about the guy. We've just been through this with the DK and Geno situations. He's always willing to move on to the next player.

I agree, that's what it's all about. It's interesting really, the relationship between talent and system. The thing that makes Walker valuable is is explosiveness, other than that he's pretty routine, and that's talent. It's the cap that's the issue, not what other teams are willing to pay. It makes no difference to JS what another team does because they have their cap approach, JS has his.

And Geno has said that when confronted with a similar situation with Seattle in 2023. I don't know the man, never met him I really try to not make sweeping judgments about a guy's character. I am no angel myself. From what I've picked up about Geno, he's an absolute gym rat of a competitor and he's emotional. But I have no reason to believe he be pissy to a new rookie QB entering the league. If he was that kind of a teammate they'd cut him. There be no reason to keep him around to poison the atmosphere of Kubiak and Mendoza's first season.

If Geno is as good as you make him out to be, there'd be no reason to draft Mendoza. We will see what happens, but my prediction
is the release Geno and find another mentor/backup.

Sure, they can save $8 MI and Mendoza starts. It doesn't mean Geno is a jerk. So does Geno get another job? The item I posted was in terms of teams being interested in waiting for him to be released

Walker is a middle of the pack back. He was 16th in rushing yards this season and has never been in the top 10. There is zero reason to pay him like a top 5 back. Same thing with Shaheed. He is a great returner but is a role player as a receiver averaging less than 40 catches per season. I am sure they can find an adequate return specialist without paying big receiver money. I am really not too concerned about any of these guys. They have the cap space to either sign them or replace them. John has all the ammo he needs to get things done and I trust his judgement to spend the money in the most efficient way.

Exactly, he'd like them back, he's made offers. They get to test the market for better ones. It really is his MO. It's his system and it's got us to another SB. I will go ahead and trust the system
