It worked and he was paid almost nothing. Now he is going to get $17M a year. He needs to get back close to that 5 catches a game. Kupp is about toast. I would say that is who he is replacing....Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2026 5:56 pmAnd they won a SB. Seems to me whatever the formula was it was successful. What's the argument that he should have been targeted more? That's why I'm kinda curious if signing him to that contract is more about replacing JSN than supporting him.

not replacing Kupp, who is purely a possession receiver at this stage, or anyone else really - Shaheed is his own animal, one of the best deep threats in the game and certainly the Hawks' best player to dictate coverages to keep opposing DC's from allocating all resources to stopping JSN. Love Horton's talent and potential, but even when healthy he is inferior to Rashid in that regard. I do think a full offseason with Darnold should improve their chemistry and lead to greater production, but with the league's best D meaning they rarely play from behind (in contrast to the Saints), coupled with their desire to run the ball, i don't see much more than 70 catches on the horizon.D-train wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2026 6:18 pmIt worked and he was paid almost nothing. Thought RS made an interesting point, it's deep balls to count, that he should be getting at least two a game.

Did Sheed get any deep ball targets this year ? I wonder if that concussion left behind some bad juju ?

Kupp scored a TD in the Super Bowl and is toast. Shaheed didn't make an immediate impact on the offense after being brought in the middle of the season to replace Paul Richardson Jr. at WR, so he is a bust and wasted money. Do I have this all paraphrased, or did I miss something that the guys who turned a team from one playoff appearance in four years, and an ass whooping to the 49ers in that game....missed to fuck up this team?
I'm blown away. There is a salary cap, tough decision have to be made, but the vastly improved the O Line and have the Tackles locked up and an opportunity to improve inside. They took a guy who was a former first round pick labeled a bust and turned him into a Super Bowl winning QB. They traded away DK Metcalf and the WR room was better. The defense was one of the best and most versatile we've ever seen. We might possibly have had the best special teams in all of football, and that facet impacted many games. But we didn't over pay a RB so we are dumb fucks. Does that about cover it?

Bleacher report has one of those ranking articles, has the seahawks with the fifth best roster currently. Just funny to me, wonder where they had them ranked last season. I'll bet not close to fifth. lol.
