Allen announced Saturday that it has reached a formal agreement to sell the Seattle Seahawks to an ownership group led by the Khosla family, including venture capitalist and co-founder of Sun Microsystems, Vinod Khosla. The sale price has not been officially disclosed, but Sportico reported the deal is expected to close at $9.6 billion.
If confirmed, it would shatter the existing record for the most ever paid for an NFL franchise, surpassing the $6.05 billion paid for the Washington Commanders in July 2023, which at the time was the most money ever paid for a sports franchise. (That record was broken by the $10 billion Los Angeles Lakers sale in 2025.) The NFL’s 31 other owners must approve the transaction, with a vote expected as early as August 26.
What makes the transaction particularly unique is where the money goes. Under the terms of Allen’s will, proceeds from the sale are to be donated to charity, with the majority directed to Allen Family Philanthropies, a Seattle-based nonprofit that invests in arts and culture, youth leadership, and environmental and bioscience research.

The Seattle Seahawks won the most recent Super Bowl (Super Bowl LX) on February 8, 2026, defeating the New England Patriots 29-13.

How do you suspend an owner, he isn't allowed to make money off the team for a year, or just not allowed to attend games?
Re: Poll: new owner preference
He is forced to attend 82 WNBA games instead of his own team.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 8:25 pmHow do you suspend an owner, he isn't allowed to make money off the team for a year, or just not allowed to attend games?

It's not unprecedented, Starver was suspended. Believe there was at least one other onel. A situation that included loss of draft picks. Steinbrenner was suspended.
