Darnold-
Well not off to a great start- O/line whiffs on like 4 blocks all at once and Sam gets driven into the turf- Seems like a repeat to whatever he tweaked in his lower body framework just before the SB- Folks over on Field Goals are mentioning a Labrum/Tear- I dunno- That was a tough one to get through but glad they kept pounding and didn't give up-

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold suffered a right hip injury five plays into the team's season opener against the New England Patriots, though initial tests have ruled out a bone fracture.
What Happened
Darnold was sacked by Dre'Mont Jones on the opening drive. His right leg took the main force of the tackle as he hit the turf.He walked to the medical tent and then went to the locker room. The team ruled him out for the rest of the game [0.6.12, Seahawks QB Darnold (hip) out after opening drive vs. Patriots

Um, there's a labrum in the hip.
AI - The hip labrum is a ring of tough cartilage that lines the rim of your hip socket to cushion the joint and keep the ball of your thighbone securely in place.
Look at me! Cut-and-pasting!!!

Re: Darnold-
At this point they are calling it a hip injury, I don't think it's been diagnosed more than that. I'm beginning to worry. When they said the initial imaging was positive I was thinking, okay not that big a deal. But now I don't know. Getting prepared to hear he needs to miss a chunk of the season
Earlier in the night, Morse had listed several potential outcomes that could fit the play, including a hip pointer, hip flexor injury, bone bruise or fracture.
For now, the only diagnosis Seattle has publicly attached to Darnold is a hip injury.
That distinction matters considering how dramatically the potential recovery time could vary depending on what additional testing shows.

From nfl.com:
The Seahawks are breathing a sigh of relief, both after a second-half comeback victory to open the season and due to the latest update on quarterback Sam Darnold's health.
Darnold, who was ruled out just prior to halftime of Wednesday's 13-10 season-opening win over the Patriots due to a hip injury, is still having tests done but a hip fracture has been ruled out, head coach Mike Macdonald said postgame.
Macdonald described the results of Darnold's testing as "great news," though the team still does not know the extent of the QB's injury.

Yeah, that stuff, sigh of relief. It's great that it's not a fracture but it still could be a pretty significant injury i guess. BTW, that was Dre'Mont Jones. The guy had a good game, six pressures?douche wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2026 4:09 pmFrom nfl.com:
