Okay, I don't know if he can get enough targets to average five receptions a game. Normally that's going to be like nine targets.
The average reception rate (catch percentage) for NFL wide receivers is roughly 62% to 63%.

Historical Average: Over the entire history of the NFL, wide receivers have averaged a 58.9% catch rate

.Modern Average: In recent seasons, efficiency has risen, with the average hovering around 62.4% to 63.2% due to shorter route depths and higher-percentage quick passing schemes

Thought this was kinda an interesting look at the seahawks defense. How they go about it a little unconventionally. I think it speaks to matching personal to the scheme. Such as more physical corners.

Rasheed was considered a reliable receiver in NO

I know. That's what is so crazy. 44 receptions in 9 games and the 15 in 9 games with us. He missed both bye weeks....
I think you are being a bit overly critical of Shaheed. He came to Seattle mid season - to a new team, new system, new QB, new OC. YOu don't just magically recreate the exact production from one team to the next - that is not how the world works and why cutting and pasting means nothing to me. Use analysis f rom your own brain. Shaheed had ONE off season with Seattle - and then Darnold promptly went down. None of these things are helping Sheheed. he also has to catch the passes he gets - that's on him. As far as "5 catches a game" being some kind of bench mark - that's pretty hard to do for any receiver. That's productivity expectant of a number one. Go look at Marvin Harrison Jr's productivity - and where he was drafted - and then complain about Shaheed - who also made monster plays in the return game we are now conveniently forgetting.

Shaheed is fine. He's not the number one, so expectations should be held accordingly. It's 2 games into the season with a back up. Let's hope his dropsies and fumblesies are done for the year. Actually, that fumble was 'by design' obviously - and executed perfectly. :D

Fun side note: Steeler fans officially on the "hate DK Metcalf" train and it's hilarious.

Now, as far as calling me Jerry Dipoto - the master of mediocrity, the CEO of Underwhelming Outputs, the puppep master of the worst franchise in sports - well, that's a bridge too far. That kind of cruel insult is just not called for. I have no choice but to place a thousand curses on the House of DT, starting with "may all your neighbors be 9er fans, no, wait, Lambs fans, no, wait, RAIDER fans!"
JSN hasn't had much problem adapting from Sam to Drew. They are basically clones at this point. I know JSN is a unicorn and a future HOFer so apples to orangutans comparison but Rashid is the 33rd highest paid WR which means he is basically the #1 WR2. Needs to average more than 1-2 catches per game for a 10 yard average. You are correct though. Its early this season. Let's see if he can shred the Savages a bit. ha

Now 14 games in. Still a fairly small sample but will be a full season when we play the 49ers

Even four would be fine which would only be 6-7 targets. Significantly less than 1 per drive.
An NFL team gets an average of about 10 to 12 offensive drives (or possessions) per game

No, Chris Olave was the number one, Rasheed averaged less than 5 targets a game in NO

I was thinking they would target Rasheed more this season but so far it doesn't seem like it. You look at the offense so far . There's going to be like 60 offensive plays, 54% so far are run. Then JSN gets his ten targets. The TEs seem to be getting utilized more, and Price and the RBs. Six or seven targets for Rasheed? And are they going to be more the down field big reward types, the percentage is lower on those. The one drop was more an underneath thing wasn't it? Are they going to try and utilize him differently? They could try to get some run after catch situations. Maybe he was thinking too much about the run after before actually catching it

He had one screen pass where he could have taken it to the house most likely, but instead of following the three blockers in front of him, he veered directly into the lone tackler. I don't think RS is a very intelligent player. Fair catches with no one within 15 yards? Give me a break.

Wow he had 45 catches in 9 games with less than five targets a game. Impressive! No wonder we traded for him! LOL
