by the way, this to me is textbook what can happen darren if the corner turns around too soon to try and find the ball. Don't worry about the ball, stick to the damn receiver, react to the ball when the receiver reacts to it, woolen just gets played

They probably win that game with Geno and DK and there will probably be a few more this season where we can say that. But we did get Milroe, Arroyo and Martinez in exchange for them so only time will tell if it was a good deal.

The first one more than the second. You have to give the tight end some credit there.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 3:23 pmactually woolen was responsible for two of the biggest blunders of the game, he is a good CB, he did make a great play on the TD pass defection, but those mistakes were inexcusable. Both times he threw basic technique out the window

Re: Postmortem - Hawks v Chardonnay Nation
I'm not!!! lol...he's like a fourth string TE, wasn't that like his first ever NFL catch? And again, he totally plays Woolen geez. Hey, I'm not like lets not let Woolen ever play again, I really don't know what to make of it, he's due for a big pay raise, that isn't a good beginning. But we been talking about the defense being elite. And by and large i think the defense did a terrific job, but those plays just do not belong on an elite defense, that's the issueSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 3:56 pmThe first one more than the second. Yeah, they got Emmanwori for DK and Milroe for Geno. It's disappointing as heck because the game was goddamned won. It was like a series of choke jobs, but im not giving up quite yetSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 3:54 pmThey probably win that game with Geno and DK and there will probably be a few more this season where we can say that. Re: Postmortem - Hawks v Chardonnay Nation
Agreed. This sounds basic and rudimentary, but the corner's primary goal should be to prevent the receiver from making the catch, not looking to make the INT. A handful of very skilled and fast players are able to intercept difficult balls, but the focus should be on preventing the catch. I wonder if Woolen has it in his head that he has to make the highlight reel play.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 3:36 pmby the way, this to me is textbook what can happen darren if the corner turns around too soon to try and find the ball. and it really was the same issue with the TD wasn't it, Woolen is looking at the qb instead of keeping track of the receiver and he got jumped. I don't know...he led the league in interceptions his first season, he's got some elite qualities. Does he try to rely on them too much and lose focus of his job?douche wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 4:13 pmAgreed. You can watch that dogshit and see a promising future. Go right on ahead.auroraave wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 3:15 pmMichael K. wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 2:43 pm88 yards passing before two desperation attempts because we had to.
3 of 10 on third down.
84 yards rushing
230 total yards
22 minutes we possessed the ball.
Yep, let's all castrate the CB. Jesus Fing Christ.
Only Seattle fans.
Seattle's offense - a new system with many new parts - struggles against a very good defense in their FIRST game of the season - the first time this offense has gone up against an opposing #1 defense - and struggling in that scenario is not expected? You were expecting their ceiling to be on display? They lost by 4 points. Maybe you ought to reconsider your unattainable expectations as the problem here. Also, why should we not hold Woolen accountable for the biggest blunder of the game? I LOVE how you ignore every single bit of context so you can cling to your narrative of the sky is falling - after ONE game against a very formidable opponent. Your over the top anger just isn't justified.
I'll bet if we just fired Schneider we'd run the tables and hang a Lombardi - right?![]()
As for fire John? Was he a GM when we hired him? Nope. I imagine there are some bright young minds in the Eagle Front Office that might be chomping at the bit to get a shot. Johnie Boy is too busy telling you what he wants you to believe and you are too busy buying it to see it.
They lost by four points because the defense kicked ass and the 9ers kicker make Blair Walsh look like Prime Justin Tucker!
88 yards passing before the last desperation drive. 150 yards all game. Only the Dophins, Bengals and Titans had fewer.
85 yards rushing all day. 3.2 yards per carry. Only 8 teams averaged fewer per carry.
230 total yards. Only the Dolphins, Titans and Bengals had fewer.
3 for 10 on third down. Only New England, the Giants, the Texans and Titans were worse
22 minutes time of possession. Only Miami at just over 21 minutes was worse.
Yep, they "struggled"? Fuck that. They looked like a fucking Pop Warner team. They set the game off offense back four decades.
All the glory talk buying into JS's bullshit this summer, and now everyone wants to excuse a shitty offense that most new was coming. Unbelievable. THIS is EXACTLY what MM wanted. Gonna be a fun year. I'll just take pee breaks when the offense has the ball. Should be back from the bathroom just in time to see us tackled short on third down and punt.

And yet? Every time a CB gets beat by a short throw and is flagged for PI? Seven dudes in the game thread type "fucking turn your head, how hard is it!?"Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 4:18 pm

Woolen ranked 19th best CB going into the season by PFF...Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 3:45 amJobe is the starting LCB according to depth charts. The backups are Derion Kendrick and Nehemiah Pritchett.
https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-cornerback ... nfl-season19. Riq Woolen, Seattle Seahawks
Woolen gets overlooked a bit in the discussion of top cornerbacks because he hasn’t replicated his rookie success after leading the NFL in interceptions (six), but his PFF advanced coverage grade across the past three years ranks 13th in the NFL. He has allowed just 0.72 yards per cover snap since 2023, the sixth-best rate at the position.
