So you're saying there's a new Sheriff in town?
We haven't had one since Norm Charlton.

Typical Schneider trade. Guess it's better than cutting him, but add Taylor to the list of high draft picks that never panned out.

So who is the 4th OLB likely to be?
Just trading a second round pick for a sixth rounder seems not good
Except they didnt trade a 2nd round pick, they traded a former 2nd round pick, a player whom likely be a round 3 or 4 pick in a hindsight re-draft. I'm always in favor of cutting your losses, and he was just taking up roster space at this point. When you're a one-trick pony your one trick has to be significantly better than the other horses - can't really say that vs. the 3 ahead of him on the depth chart. But i wouldnt really call him a bust either - got a decent year or two of badly needed pass rush before recouping a portion of his draft value - you could do a lot worse. Anyone recall Anton Polepoi? (or as Danny O'Neal call pronounced - Anton Pile a Poo)

New coach and new scheme. My guess is he didn’t fit, and everyone in the league knew it, so it was get a small return for him or no return.

I can’t believe anyone that watched our fucking dogshit defense over the last three seasons gives a shit about a move like this. Who cares? He was probably a Pete guy, and that’s the only reason John held him this long.

The Seahawks added cornerback depth on Thursday, signing cornerback Willie Roberts. Defensive tackle Matt Gotel was waived/injured to make room on the 90-man roster.

We'll see if he's still got it or has lost a step :P

Now the Bears have two
Q: Would you be concerned about their pass rush?

Schatz: They were 32nd in adjusted sack rate last year and 31st in pressure rate. Even with having Montez Sweat for half the year. So it’s a problem. There’s one pass rusher. You double-team him, and you’re OK. And they didn’t blitz that much. When you have only one pass rusher, you need to make more of a pass rush with the blitz. Which is like what Detroit did. And the Bears don’t blitz that much. If it’s easier to block the guys on the other side and up the middle, then you double Montz Sweat.

He's a dude that had as many as 9.5 sacks i n a year. I'd hardly call that a flop. What I am hearing is he is a one-tricky pony type. And he just didn't fit the round hole as a square peg. He looked explosive in the game I watched him in the preseason and expect I will see posts at some point about how dumb the trade was when he is putting up sack stats as a Bear.
Week 1 8 tackles, 2 sacks, and a Forced fumble!

Just another guy that Pete/Hurtt/Norton couldn't get the most out of.
