Cooper is a fantastic guy. My cousins kid was in the State Championship basketball team with him and played football with him. Worked out some with him when he comes home and said Cooper is an effing beast. So, I like the signing for Cooper. Welcome home kid.

Not sure how much it makes this team better though. They need speed. Kupp is fantastic in the slot, but so is JSN.

Had he been healthy the last 2 seasons... he would have hung 1,000 with 10 TD's both years.

Lockett played all 17 games and had just 600 yards and 2 TD's yet people are bitching and crying that the Hawks don't want to pay him basically the same $$ that they just gave Kupp who is a far better player.
This is an interesting take.
"Had he been healthy"? Well, he wasn't. and now, another year later, he's no more likely to be healthy for us.
Nothing against Kupp. The guy is straight up a stud. I was always extremely jealous of the Rams for having him.
His signing is making me reflect on how old I am because it feels like just last week I was listening to a random
sports radio broadcast of an Eastern Eagles game and the name Kupp was coming out of the announcer's mouth on
what seemed like every play. This seems like a fan fiction or fantasy football signing to me. I hope I'm wrong.

As for Lockett, I'm pretty biased. I won't be convinced he was no longer open last year. I'm not going to hunt down
and purchase the all-22 film and spend hours trying to prove my bias, but I think it's sketchy reasoning to say 32yo
Kupp is going to be significantly more productive in 2025 than 33yo Tyler Lockett.

Interesting take on Lockett and Kupp. Seems this might just be MM trying to put his stamp in this team and JS wanting to make a move so people can stop talking about how the O Line has been Dogshit for fifteen years and all he’s done is sign yet another nobody upfront.

More smoke and mirrors. People are annoyed about losing local Here Lockett? Here’s an ex All Pro that went to Davis and Eastern. Local Hero, nothing more to talk about. Don’t look behind the curtain. This is just like firing the OC. Doing stuff that won’t amount to shit, but the fans and media eat it up.

Let's sign Teven Jenkins Monday and call it a wrap on free agency.
Only thing about him is injury prone.

Go draft some "BEEF" for the OLine and some speedy receivers.
This exactly!
plus draft a nose tackle, TE, and depth corner. plenty of those first two positions in this draft; hardest part to all of that is signing Jenkins - will require JS to outspend the other two teams, and we all know the story with that so far. but do that and you can almost completely flunk the draft and still have had a successful offseason.

Seems like a pretty successful smoke and mirrors effort
After swinging and missing on top wide receiver targets DK Metcalf and Chris Godwin, the New England Patriots have been in negotiations with wide receiver Cooper Kupp and his representatives. They received bad news on that front tonight.

As first reported by NFL Network's trio of Tom Pelissero, Mike Garafolo, and Ian Rapoport, "Former (Los Angeles) Rams WR Cooper Kupp is signing with the NFC West rival (Seattle) Seahawks."

Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports added, "there were a variety of teams in the Cooper Kupp sweepstakes -- including the (Denver) Broncos, (New Orleans) Saints, (Green Bay) Packers, and Patriots -- but the Seahawks sold Kupp on a return home and being a key focal point of a new-look offense with Sam Darnold."

So, you think Cooper Kupp and MVS are better than DK and Lockett?

No, though kupp might be better at winning football games than DK. DK and Lockett were moves that needed to be made. And combined with moving Geno, I think JS has done a pretty good job of trying to keep the team competitive while moving some significant pieces.

The Darnold signing is interesting, JS doesn't pull that off and they would have basically been screwed. You jump in and land what was considered the best QB on the market. I would have thought Darnold to have had the leverage but JS gets him to sign what seems a very team friendly contract.

Terms of being better,I think the entire package, from MM and Kubiak to Darnold and Kupp should be an upgrade. That's the upgrade we are counting on. Kupp's health is an issue. If JS can land Jenkins it's been a productive off season, though Jenkins is another health issue

Hopefully there's a clause in Cooper's contract to incentivize him to shear off that monstrosity of a beard...

SEA... where past-their-prime players go to be put out to pasture.

Hopefully he's got some football left in him. Hopefully they can utilize him effectively.
