Why would Cabeldue start ahead of Haynes?
They still have Bradford as the starter

Basically they got a sure starter in Zabel, a combine monster in Emmanwori, a good receiving TE, and a bunch of junk that will never contribute much towards anything. Not a fan of this draft overall.
As a homer, I like this draft a lot! I don't know how you could have axed-em to do more! They've basically remade the offense on the fly with Geno and DK and Tyler gone, new OC again, a commitment to competition on the oline with pick 18, a monster fullback, a potentially all-world elite upside QB who needs coaching and time, a sackmaker on the dline, a top safety they traded up for, a punt returner and burner WR with good hands unlike DK, the kind of hybrid TE we always need, never use and never get, and a depth RB who can pound the ball, likes contact, and can catch. To me, with a decent offensive scheme and an oline for once, my god, I feel like we have a plan and an arsenal, and a D that is already scary.

Also, this draft creates crazy positional competition almost everywhere. They'll sort it out.

This looks like very good draft where we stayed flexible, addressed many concerns, and we still have UDFA. Fun couple weeks ahead while all this shakes out.
Good summary Mao. the other thing to get excited about is the success this OC had with Taysom Hill and Juwan Johnson last year before they all got hurt (40 some points week 1!) and realizing he ccould do the same with perhaps superior talent in Milroe and Arroyo.
But the key for me all comes back to Day 1 - by sticking to the plan and addressing the one biggest need then, they were free to get creative adding talent Friday trading up for Nick and buying the lottery pick named Milroe. then to get solid depth with Mills, Cabeldue, Horton and Martinez was a bonus, the latter two of whom could develop into starters.
now go get stackhouse to plug the A gap!

Yup, they're being methodical about this, but there is a heavy corporate team overlay now that is next level. What I like the most is everyone is accountable and under constant review yet still has autonomy in their roles. Vetting and character and leadership is first step now. This is a team almost as much off the field as on it, and excellence is required in every corner. Last year was a new situation for JS with PC gone, Paul long dead, his sis in full control, and a new whiz kid hire for HC. This year is a chance for them to start to put it all together, could be fun! I bet $20 on them to win the SB at +6500 lol.

Who is they? But yes, why would Cabeldue be ahead of either of them?

Still scratching my head at using a 5th round pick on Robbie Ouzts.

Whatever led to the death of the old school idea of a fullback in the NFL, anyway? It's a great position, multi-purpose TE, special teams, block, and he is 270? Now I'm hoping we bring back the wishbone next season.

I was mistaken, was thinking the Seahawks depth chart. Yeah Ouzts seems a bit of a reach but think of it as additional Oline help, offensive blocking, MM's 12 personnel mantra. I guess the Ravens use a fullback. Construct the team to your HC specifications, see what he can do with it. Shouldn't have so many 4th and one failures hopefully

I mostly like this draft. The only pick that I really don't care for is Arroyo. i just don't think he is very good and I would have liked to see them get a D-tackle or a corner with that pick.

Pick #166 is WR Tony Horton out of Colorado State. Good pick.

I like it. He is near 6'3" and he only ran a 4.41 40 at the combine but is just coming back from injury. He is rumored to have run in the 4.3s before.

Like the picks outside too high of a pick for a te/fb.

Zabel is going to be Left Guard per the Hawks. So it will be like a 4 way battle for RG. Hopefully one of them stands out in Camp and wins the job going away.
