Why would Cabeldue start ahead of Haynes?

They still have Bradford as the starter

They aren't going to name a late round pick as starter no matter how bad Bradford sucks. Hopefully one of the is better than him. I don't see how they could be worse.

Still scratching my head at using a 5th round pick on Robbie Ouzts.

Whatever led to the death of the old school idea of a fullback in the NFL, anyway? It's a great position, multi-purpose TE, special teams, block, and he is 270? Now I'm hoping we bring back the wishbone next season.

Because it became a passing league with all the rule changes limiting DBs. A 4th WR became much more valuable than another blocker.

that is, until teams and players adapted and starting paying and loading up on pass rushers and tightening coverage to hammer the quick throws and hot reads, leading some offenses to go back to 2 tight ends or using a fullback or H-Back, hence the like of Ouzts. funny how cyclical this game is.

Good summary Mao. the other thing to get excited about is the success this OC had with Taysom Hill and Juwan Johnson last year before they all got hurt (40 some points week 1!) and realizing he ccould do the same with perhaps superior talent in Milroe and Arroyo.
But the key for me all comes back to Day 1 - by sticking to the plan and addressing the one biggest need then, they were free to get creative adding talent Friday trading up for Nick and buying the lottery pick named Milroe. then to get solid depth with Mills, Cabeldue, Horton and Martinez was a bonus, the latter two of whom could develop into starters.
now go get stackhouse to plug the A gap!

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that the early season success was with Carr, not Hill. Carr's injury really slowed the Saints down.
