That's a lot of luck, but if I'm going to try to stay consistent, I'm not going to base my opinion on that stat anymore than I am
the stats that seem to suggest Geno is a top 5 QB. I do agree with the Calkins opinion, even though I don't like Calkins.
One year is not enough of a sample size to pay Geno the going-rate starter money for a team that isn't ready yet anyway.

I ask myself - do players usually do as well or get better the year after they get a huge pay raise? not usually.
Geno needs to prove it more first. What does Geno do when more "business" is injected into the equation?
For 2022 all Geno felt was love from the Seahawks. "We love you Geno (and your tiny little contract)."
I've been scoffing at the franchise tag idea, but maybe I'm wrong. The tag would make him prove it for
one more year and really test him both personality wise and talent wise.

I think they may offer him something between $17m and $20m. Perhaps two years. Guarantee $18m or so. May be a low ball and someone else might pay more, but he's only proved himself over 1 year. Incentives to fill the gap?

He is not a long term piece of the puzzle. Good guy. Did more than he was asked to do, but in two years I expect we'll have another solution to QB. I hope it won't be another Rick Mirer!

Just feels so lightning in a bottle/one hit wonder to me. Not saying he will be terrible next season but I could see major regression to about average surrounding by a better but not great supporting cast resulting in the same mediocre season of barely making or barely missing the playoffs.

That is exactly why I would be OK with Geno walking. I'd prefer we draft linemen and go with Lock for a year or two. Use the money saved on Geno for a couple of stud FA DT's. Maybe an average QB with a stout O-Line and a good RB will do well enough. Especially if we have a superb front 7 on defense!

pay him more than $6 mill? What happens if you sign Lock first?

Seahawks to sign Lock, if possible, the minute Geno walked off to another team, even if they do plan on taking a QB in the draft.
