Pretty sure Jones covered quite admirably for Cross - I don't think he was an issue.
Jones completely whiffed on the second Darnold pick.

There was 3:13 left plus the 2 minute warning so theoretically, they could have stopped them and got the ball back to try a game winning field goal but I agree that going for two was their best chance of winning. Especially with the way that the Rams moved the ball on their first overtime possession. If they had kicked it of it was probably about an 80% chance they wouldn't get the ball back.
Yeah, Stafford was on a roll. That would have been an eternity for him to get them into FG range. I never felt like kicking it even crossed their minds.

I still think the Lambs might be better and I absolutely don't want to see them in the playoffs
Is there a scenario where we don't have to face the Rams again?

Yeah, several. One of us could lose our first playoff game. Or even the second playoff game depending on how the rest of the seeding works out.

I think the #1 seed plays the lowest remaining seed in the second round. As it stands now, that would mean we would play the Rams if they end up being the 5 seed, beating and the 2 and 3 seeds win their games. I don't see how anyone would want to be the 4 seed. You are most likely going to host the Niners, Rams or Seahawks.

I always hate it when the Seahawks are in close games. I hate needing a game winning drive etc.
Because, IMO, you can't be assured of winning those game more than 50% of the time.
What I almost never think about is the corollary; if you can stay or get close at the end of the game,
you can still win it about 50% of the time. Once Shaheed returned the punt, it was officially "close".

I still had the game on, but I had emotionally checked out after the second Darnold pick. Next thing I know,
I see Shaheed tight rope walking the sideline into the endzone. The Rams must have checked out after the
second Darnold pick too, because not much time went by before they were punting and letting us right back
into it. They took their foot off the gas for a moment and it cost them, IMO.

not to mention that the 4 seed will be either TB or Carolina, as they will easily be the worst record division winner. I know the Panthers pulled that upset but i give them zero chance of doing it again. You know, like about 1 in 173 odds :)

I don't want to play the Niners or the Rams again. I think the three best teams in football are in the NFC West.

Chicago doesn't scare me a lot....I mean, Tampa would be more of a concern to be honest, since they've already beaten us. But both teams seem to have gone in completely different directions since then. They lost to Atlanta for crying out loud, and Carolina loses to New Orleans....AFTER beating the Rams?

LA, SF and Seattle. I see all three making the playoffs.

Right now it is

1. Seattle
2. Chicago
3. Philly
4. Tampa
5. LA
6. SF
7. Green Bay

Detroit is right there. They should just eliminate the South from contention, move everyone up and let Detroit in! LOL

I could see what is above even flipping a bit and SF over taking LA. SF seems to have LA's number. Imagine Philly having to host LA and SF going into Philly?

If the standings finish the way they are above, IMO, second round games would be
#1 Seattle versus #7 Green Bay
#5 LA vs #6 SF.

Millen just brought up an interesting take on all the defensive miscommunications last night- Were the 12s a little too loud and the secondary just couldn't hear hear each other ? MacDonald emphasizes communication all the time so it did seem strange to see them getting rocked that hard.

Did anyone have 12-3, first place in division and NFC's number one seed with two games to go on their preaseason bingo card?
