Also rememebr - these are elite athletes - very fast and agile - things are happening fast in real time - and humans (the refs) have to react in real time, often the play is happening in a crowd and with mutual hand fighting. These calls can be hard. I will go to my grave adamant that the non call in the Saints game was arguably the worst non call ever - because NONE of those caveats were a factor - it was a deep ball - one on one - every single eye ball was on those two, and not only did the defender blatantly arrive early and crush the receiver - it was a helmet to helmet hit. You can possibly miss ONE of those, but it is so so so so so unlikely you miss both - just incomprehensible. I am still pissed about it to this day.XpertDBA wrote: ↑Tue Dec 30, 2025 6:48 pmThe thing is, he didn't slap the arm down, didn't grab it, and didn't hold it. I don't know what else the guy is supposed to do. He's covering him like glue and they're both interlocking arms. When I watch it in slow motion, all I can do is commend the defender for NOT grabbing and NOT holding. It seems to me he did everything right. The receiver should have gotten himself more free if he expected absolutely ZERO contact. Receivers need to grow some balls and outduel the defender (like Nacua did on his almost miracle catch). What has to end is this ticky-tack interference bullshit where the receiver is too pussy to go fight for the ball. If he is getting held, grabbed or slapped (or the defenders head isn't turned around), then fine, throw the flag.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Dec 30, 2025 6:35 pmHand fighting has to end when the ball is in the air. I just can't get over the fact that he can't raise one of his arms and has to make a one handed attempt, and somehow, physically impeding his ability to use both hands for a catch ISN'T interference. Hand fighting is fine, and last night the booth official even says that....it's hand fighting UNTIL the time he is attempting to catch the ball. By your definition, the DB could just repeatedly slap the WRs arm down, and because he didn't grab it, it's not a foul. Contact from the DB was making it impossible for the WR to lift his other hand to make a catch. Sorry, I just don't see anyway that's not interference.
The Lambs can never ever ever ever ever complain after that one. Not. Fucking. Ever.
