Re: Jersey numbers
You only need a number if you're in prison or in line at WSDL or Comcast.
Re: Jersey numbers
I'm trying to imagine him as a broadcaster... a nothing schill... boring, vanilla commentary sprinkled with personal promotion and more publicity than he should be afforded. The story of Russell Wilson’s future appears to be taking another turn, one that could see his playing career come to an end.
A few days after it was reported the former Seahawks quarterback had a visit with the New York Jets about possibly becoming ex-Seattle teammate Geno Smith’s backup, The Athletic reported Friday that he is “in deep discussions” about instead going into television broadcasting.
The reported stated that “The NFL Today,” CBS’ Sunday morning NFL pregame show, is “considered the favorite” to land Wilson.
A move into TV, The Athletic reported, “could mark the end of what is likely a Hall of Fame career as an NFL quarterback.” The Athletic cited “sources briefed on the talks.”
The Athletic noted that Wilson has worked with CBS on “a few occasions” over the years, including during a bye week for the Giants last season. The report noted that Wilson could fill a spot vacated by former Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan, who recently was hired as the president of the Falcons.
But then, Matt Ryan as president of the Falcons is also rather hysterical.

Re: Jersey numbers
It would be interesting to read a breakdown of the jersey numbers from a numerologist to find out the significance of it all.
Re: Jersey numbers
I do not beleive in ANY way that WIlson is up for any broadcast gigs. He would be absolutely awful. He's not popular and has too much negative baggage about him. He's not charming or colorful, he's politician-speak at best and ain't no one signing up for that. He's trying to save face. I cannot imagine him in the booth - OMG that would be awful. By the way - nothing tops the Manningcast - I think those two are just so hilarious while being low-key super knowledgable and informative - and they get all the killer guests. My buddy put that show together!douche wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2026 8:36 pmI'm trying to imagine him as a broadcaster... a nothing schill... boring, vanilla commentary sprinkled with personal promotion and more publicity than he should be afforded. The story of Russell Wilson’s future appears to be taking another turn, one that could see his playing career come to an end.

Re: Jersey numbers
I totally agree with you. I would rather listen to Rosie O'Donnell do Color on NFL games but for some reason CBS is into Mr. Unlimited.

Skip Bayless on RWs future
If that's the case he really needs to do it. This is the point to retire and move on. It would be an interesting decision if he picks backup QB for the Jets“He does speak well, and he looks great, and he has good sort of charisma. They’re beating down his door to get him now to commit to television. It just seems like he’s going to have to sit down, and then you’re going to have to look in the mirror and say, ‘I can be OK without football.’ And that’s a hard thing to say, man. It’s hard.”
Re: Jersey numbers
I just can't fathom how he would get more joy out of standing on the sidelines in silence watching Jets games then doing something new and fun

Yeah, and l don't agree with Aurora. I think RW is made for television. What, he's not genuine enough? lol, yeah like that's what it takes to make it in media. The thing about him to me, and I admire him for it. I've never known him to take shots at anybody, make it personal. It makes him sound plastic but on the other hand he seems to have control of his mouth. I think mouth control is appreciated in television. He's the last guy in the world that need to issue an apology for a remark he made. Hes the antithesis of a Puka Nacua

Re: Jersey numbers
Your judgment is biased because you're looking at it through the lens of a jaded Seahawks fan. Negative baggage? really? What negative baggage does he have other than starting to suck at the end of his career and not living up to his contract. He is certainly more popular than 3/4 of the guys that are doing color commentary right now.auroraave wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 2:42 pmI do not beleive in ANY way that WIlson is up for any broadcast gigs.
