Is there actually controversy over what call he made?
Yep, people are saying it sounds like he said tails. You think Sherman would have let that slide? I think not.
i actually thought that watching live. just glad it worked out. had thought it was gonna be 2 weeks in a row that Russ wins it on 1st OT possession - even texted that to my buddy. guess i pulled a Hasselbeck there.

Great recap Aurora..!
I agree on all counts with you about how the referees used every opportunity to keep this game close with their arbitrary judgement calls.
Sherman continues to interfere / get away with bumping receivers a tick before the rules allow..[but I guess only a hypocritical Hawks Fan would take exception to that now..... :) ]

This was a most aggravating game to watch on many levels. We saw wave after wave of the very best and also the very worst [even clownish] plays being made throughout the game.

Clowney was a real difference maker for us..! He's going full throttle every down. Life should be much easier for the rest of our defense with this Pro Bowl Pass Rusher speeding the game up for the opposing QB.

But hey, 8-2, right? Who else should be above PC on that list?

Payton?
He should definitely be on the short list. Although, to be fair, that's a very talented roster, it's not like he picked 'em up off the floor, they were already humming along. The Saints have been my NFC SB pick from the beginning of the season. Not only that, but the sad, ugly truth is the NFL owes them a SB to make up for last year. If NO gets home field, I doubt there's any reason for their opponent to even show up. The refs will dictate it the Saints way, per the NFL's pre-arranged agenda to sate that market. It's sad to think of that as a reality, but the truth is these games are clearly controlled and manipulated game after game after game by the refs - when you start looking for it - it seems almost blatant. I'd be happy for the Saints fans, but sad for NFL and football fans all over who have to sacrifice a season because the NFL fucked up so badly last year and they're still trying to shake the stink off. They'll even spin it as a 'feel good' story to mask the bullsh*t reality that all of us could see coming a mile away. If I remember correctly, didn't Seattle get completely hosed the last time they were in NO? Didn't the refs have a pretty sizable influence on that outcome too?

Yeah, no officiating problems in the NFL. Just business as usual.

I guess the officials just couldn't do enough to get them to beat the mighty Falcons in New Orleans.

No, COTY candidates. getting this group out to 8-2 should put PC in the discussion.
