I just don't see any reasonable way 14 teams works.
Top seed in each conference gets a bye everyone else plays the first week of the playoffs. adds an extra playoff game to the first round but stays with 3 rounds to advance to the superbowl.
Brilliant!!! :)
That sounds great an all, until the time that the Cowboys actually earn a #2 seed and Jerry screams and cries because his team should have received a bye! :D

Few issues here.

1. Preseason is used for the guys on the backend of the roster, the backups & such. How are you supposed to construct a roster with no way of seeing these guys perform. You just gonna added the 53 you think is the best. How's that gonna work?

2. No one is forcing you to pay for these preseason games so I don't wanna here that bs

3. Does it come with added concessions such as an increase in health benefits & more overall revenue for players, are rosters gonna expand?

4. Why does it need to turn into the NHL or NBA where every team makes it. Not every team deserves a playoff spot.

Actually I am forced to pay for pre season games. Full price same as reg. season. I agree on #4. Playoffs are perfect as is.

Practice. College coaches figure out a depth chart all the time...by evaluating talent during Spring and Summer camps. Weird.

Yes they are. Season ticket holders are charged for 10 games....not 8 regular season games.

What does that matter? You mean playing three less games over all is somehow more damaging to the players...and the only way they deserve these health benefits is to add one regular season game?

14 of 30 is not everyone. Jesus, one team per Conference added to the playoffs and now it is EVERYONE that gets in?

14 of 32. A bit much for my taste but sure beats the NBA's 16 of 30.

1. If that's the case why not go back to full padded practices maybe even 2 practices every day. Full contact. You want a better product let'em go full boar. Big difference between college & NFL, college has infinitely more players then NFL. Dumbass union

2. Here's a novel idea, DON'T BUY SEASON TICKETS.

3. Again has to do with the lack of practice.

4. So lets add another 9-7 who probably doesn't deserve to be there in the first place. Why stop at 14 why not go 16 or 18? Just keep it as is with the 2 wild cards.

Because a full padded practice with drills were the contact is under control would be the exact same thing as four pre-season games? Have you ever been to a practice? I am less worried about if they hit each other or not and more on if they can get on the same damn page or not. Sorry, when you watch them play they look like a bunch of guys that never practice....because that is what they are!

You bring up tickets, then get pissed that we point out people ARE paying for tickets and have to? You think people will give up season tickets over two pre-season games? They don't, and that is how the NFL wants it.

If anyone thinks this is about player safety and NOT the extra two games they can charge regular price for then they are kidding themselves.

I love the response to the issue with adding one more team is to go straight to the strawman of adding everyone, then get defensive that I point out one more team is still a smaller percentage than hockey or the NBA. Adding one team will just ruin the game! Did you say that when they went from one WC to two, or when they added a WC?

If I see too much more of the miraculous comebacks that questionable referee calls have made possible all around the league..then I will question the time I spend watching the NFL VS watching the NBA that has already proven to be a corrupt "rodent faced farce" not worthy of my time any more as a fan.

It makes no sense to go to a 17-game schedule if only because of how ideal a 16-game schedule is in a 32-team league with eight four-team divisions. Six games within your own division, a three-year rotation on one of the other divisions within your conference, a four-year rotation on the four teams in the other conference, and two games against similar prior years' finishers in the other two divisions within your conference. It's as close to perfect as you can get.
