[Fucking SS. Kam didn’t cover either. Your ire over the coverage skills of a fucking guy that basically plays LB blows me away. We have issues in coverage, but not sure all the sins of the coverage are on a fucking box safety. Last I’m saying about it. You can continue to blame everything from our base defense to the price of gas on Adams. I’m done with this.
Shitty scheme, Corners getting torched and penalized left and right, little to no pass rush and a soft ass scheme. But if we just had a cover guy at fucking Box Safety? We’d be amazing on defense.
It's not just coverage. Adams and Diggs play like bad backups. Missed tackles and no big plays.
Yes I put blame on them - They are two of the highest paid safeties in the NF fucking L. What a terrible waste of salary cap.
Compared to last year, the D-line is way better. I'm not saying they are great or anything, but I would definitely put more blame on the
to star safeties that are instead clowns.
No arguments, but again, if you think the biggest issue with our pass defense is what the box safety is doing? I have to disagree. Gametime complains after every snap about Adams. Is he great in coverage? No, Hell, he's not even good anymore. Not sure what happened between here and New York, scheme, injuries, what ever. But for crying out loud, Kam wasn't great in coverage either. We had boards like this back then, I don't remember one guy bitching after every pass play that Kam fucked up in coverage. We paid a guy that isn't great in coverage, then ask him to repeatedly do things he isn't good at. The organization whiffed on him, but to bitch after every fucking series about something we all know is going to happen? It get's old. BUT? This is already one more time I've talked about it then I said I would. It's a dead horse that has been beaten so many times. I need to just accept that in this forum? The Box Safety is responsible for pass rush, run defense and covering the WRs. And? When it doesn't happen? He is the reason that our defense sucks. Our defense sucks, year in and year out now....for the same reasons, but with different guys. Weird.

IF Adams is the issue with our pass defense? Than the scheme is bullshit.

Side note: That tackle Adams made behind the line of scrimmage to stop the RB was pretty sweet.

And you are correct, Chancellor was busted many times, but nobody ever said anything. Probably because his bone-crunching hits distracted people from the fact that he wasn't good in pass coverage.

Also? Because he is a Strong Safety. Does he need to cover? Yes, but when he is exploited in coverage, it's not the end of the world. Like I said Thursday night, instead of ripping a fucking Box Safety for not being able to stay with Brandon Cooks? Maybe credit their OC for creating that mismatch, or find out why the fuck we have a defensive set that allows for that!? Several years ago, when Buffalo was marching up and down the field on us, Josh Allen looked to his right and saw KJ Wright matched up man for man with a fucking WR. THAT is what we consider pass defense. It is a fucked up system that the league figured out years ago, and it no longer has Sherman taking away half the field and ET roaming CF erasing all mistakes. It is hard enough to play pass defense in the NFL without doing it in a system that worked because Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas were all world. Those guys don't grow on trees. 7 teams have allowed more points than us

8 teams have allowed more yards than us
8 teams have allowed more passing TDs than us
4 teams have allowed more rushing TDs than us
8 teams have allowed more first downs than us
10 teams have fewer INTs than us

That tells me there is plenty of blame to be thrown around, and if that blame is all aimed at the fucking SS? That seems odd, to me.

The crazy thing? We are tied for 18th in fewest yards per play....so we die by 1,000 cuts, yet again. We are 14th in defensive penalty yards and 12th in penalties....yet one of the highest penalized teams in football. Sounds like our offense might have a lot to do with that. We are also tied for 8th in Sacks with the 49ers, which seems to fly in the face of this "dogshit D Line" theory that often times gets thrown around.

All the terms you mention (scheme, mismatches, etc.) are all the things missing from this coaching staff. In addition to game time adjustments and clock management, of course.

It's truly bizarre that a coaching staff can appear this clueless. They know what they've got in terms of personnel. They've got tape on their opponents. They must have a game plan every week. And they just can't seem to do it.

Perhaps aurora nailed it when he said that maybe we just have a dumb team.

Hugh Millen lighting up Adams on the radio right now.

PFF. Adan’s is ranked as one of the worst safeties in coverage and tackling. And overall.

Killing him on woofing after getting beat.

Again, it would be nice if guys like Millen actually looked into the problem, instead of ripping on the guy who gets paid and doesn't act like they want him to act. Adams is a below average Safety at best right now, but if some dunder head like Millen thinks that the root of all evils with this defense, and all we need is a different Box Safety to fix all that is wrong? What ever. Millen likes to run his mouth about all kinds of shit. Blaming Adams is easier than blaming the fucking defense as a whole, which would basically be blaming the Staff, which a puss like Millen won't do. Let's blame Adams because we traded for him AND paid him, and it didn't work out. Sounds more like the organization yet again swinging and missing. Adams is who he is, and he regressed in coverage, and we have no clue how to use him. Odd, that has never happened before. Pete wanted a toy and didn't know how to play with it.

Oh, wait, it happens all the time. And he usually burns assets in order to get that toy. Unger, Tate, draft picks, you name it.

A few years ago Adams was an All Pro, and it was mostly due to blitzing. Millen ripped on Adams because his blitzing put the rest of the defense in a bad position. SOMEHOW, the blitzing scheme was ADAMS's fault, and not the guy that designed and called the defense. Now, he isn't blitzing, isn't effective and somehow the entire fault of the defense is on Adams. For fuck sakes, find a new whipping boy gametime....do you HONESTLY think if we just had a different Strong Safety all the ills of the defense would be solved? Adams is a fucking blitzing LB, and one that is so broken right now, he probably wouldn't be very good even at that. But somehow, Pete and his boys think he is a SS, and that is somehow not their fault.

Same shit, different year. But let's blame the SS. Next year it'll be a different guy, but the guys not taking heat will STILL be Pete and what ever yes man he has running his defense. No one man has ever been given this much slack for this long for one fucking Super Bowl win in the History of the NFL. Well, maybe Joe Flacco.

The real blame? Is on the LOB for not discovering a fountain of youth. Because if we just had Sherm, ET, Kam and the 2014 front seven in their Prime? We'd still be great. You can't take a team full of different players and make them be the team you used to have. Failure to adapt is failure.

I guess Pete didn't get the memo.
