I remember that game. It occured to me later that it signaled the end of the Chuck Knox era even though they got into the playoffs that season. Easley, Green and Largent were pretty much done, and the Nordstroms were about to sell the team.
Re: Thread for draft simulations:
Funny story. I was in Ft Lenard Wood Missouri going through basic train when we drafted Boz. I was used to reading the Sports pages every day prior. I had ZERO access other than my mom send me newspaper clippings from the the Everett Herald. I didn't know we drafted Boz until almost a month after it happened like I was at War in Iraq or something. lol

A lot of Buzz about Grant, as I understand. Getting him at 52 is pretty damn good.
Re: Thread for draft simulations:
OMG! I don't remember you sharing your military experience. Thanks for your service. I did my basic at Ft. Jackson S.C. The HC of the Gamecocks the other USC supported the military so we got to see the game vs Clemson. They have a big stadium.D-train wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 4:32 amFunny story. Re: Thread for draft simulations:
So, I have looked at the WR core and think it is a big need.
I drafted the same guy as an ESPN mock had us taking
Matthew Golden
WR
Texas (4.29 40)( I think we need a deep threat to replace what DK/TL were I know TL was not good this year but before he was a deep threat.)
Height: 5 - 11 |
Weight: 191 lbs |
RAS: N/A
Matthew Golden is the most well-rounded receiver prospect. He combines fantastic athleticism with the ability to do all of the little things at a high enough level to carve out a role within an offense.
I also saw another guy I wanted to take a chance on and that was 6'4" or some have him listed at 6'5" 205# but he is another deep threat with 4.3 speed. Dont'e Thornton
With these 2 I would love to see some 4 wideout packages with Kupp and JSN being the slot guys and these two taking the top off the D.
Tyleik Williams I was also able to get the #32 ranked DT a 6'2" 335# stud that is a freak speed/power combo to combine with Reed, Murphy, and Young.
Milroe at pick 52 I have seen him listed at 6'1" to 6'2" and from 217 to 230. I'd say he looks big to me 6'2" 230#. ANd he has that speed and power. So, he looks like a prime tush push specialty guy. I would love to see him be like how they used Taysom Hill. Give him some readoptions, some 3rd/4th down tush pushy things and a few Lions style "gadget plays" to start but you develop him.
I was a little light on my O-line I got a good looking 6'5" 320# OG at #92 (
Dylan Fairchild) and then another value picks at 171, 172 at OC and OG but I left a couple of later round picks that I figured out the sim won't let you trade after you do not have any picks left on the 2025 year. So, I will re do it one more time.

Re: Thread for draft simulations:
As a rule i never trade away any of the Seahawks' 2026 draft picks, and i convert 2026 draft picks offered by other teams in trade proposals into 2025 picks. So, if another team offers me a 2026 2nd round pick i change it into a 2025 3rd rounder. If they don't have one then i convert it into two later 2025 picks. I think it works better that way.

I like Mathew Golden and Tyleik Williams, but i think Milroe at 52 rather than an interior OL would be a big mistake.
This addresses what IMO are the three biggest needs: IOL, DL, and WR.

He will turn 26 years old the first month of the NFL season.
Darnold will have just turned 28 and he has 72 starts under his belt in the NFL.
Can you imagine if Joe Burrow played in college until he was 25? He'd have thrown for 70 TD's in his 8th year.

Re: Thread for draft simulations:
You're right, it was a wasted pick. I should have gone Safety or LB at 94.

If at the end of the next draft, the only thing I'm looking to complain about is pick 94? I'd say we had a pretty decent draft.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 7:24 pmYou're right, it was a wasted pick. I should have gone Safety or LB at 94.
