They had the ball with a chance to win and a good play by the Philly defense caused a turnover. If that is an ass kicking that what do you call what New Orleans and Baltimore did to us this year?ThePro wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 5:49 pmYou cannot ( and should not ) discount the two gifts they were given in Superbowls 49 & 50. Nothing genius about that. That was shameful . Pats got their ass kicked very next year by Philly.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 5:12 pmNot to mention they then go to the playoffs where they have to beat other AFC playoff teams which they usually do, and then in the Super Bowl they have to beat the best (or hottest) team in the NFC and they usually do.

"Alot to unpack there. First and foremost every team coaches their gameplan based on their opponent. Foolish and naive to think Patriots are only ones doing this.
Second Carroll has had great success with his schemes."
I never said every coach doesn't game plan based on their opponents. What I did say earlier is Belichick does better than every other coach I can think of in completely taking awy the other teams best player on offense. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Lamar doesn't get 40 yards rushing on the N.E. defense. Lamar might be the best player on the field when Baltimore has the ball, but guaranteed Belichick will make him beat N.E. with his arm and not his legs, which Pete had no answer for.

Belichick must have left his genius hoodie at the cleaners.XpertDBA wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2019 7:17 pm"Alot to unpack there. First and foremost every team coaches their gameplan based on their opponent. Foolish and naive to think Patriots are only ones doing this.

The Pats straight up got outplayed! I was shocked. Especially in the first quarter the Pats had no answer. If not for a muffed punt early it would have been what, 17 to 6 at the half? Then I thought, here we go...and the Ravens get a scoop and score and the avalanche was on.
I am not sure what was more surprising to me...the fact that the Qb power type run game was so effective, or that the Patriots really couldn't get much going on offense. I still think that if we don't have the one mistake turn into a pick six we would have continued to march the ball up and down the field on Baltimore the way he had right up to that point.
Anyone, like me, who was bitterly disappointed after the Ravens loss, has to feel a bit better now.
Now, if we could just get our defense to play a bit better and find a Kicker that isn't a crapshow we would be in great shape.

Yeah, that whole game was incredibly shocking. I guess Belichick had no answers for Lamar.
I guess the other answer could be that N.E. hasn't really played anyone difficult up to this game and that their skill level on defense is now exposed as a sham. Can only beat up on the Dolphins, Jets and Browns for so long.

Lamar Jackson is that fast. You can't scheme to stop that. You could spy him but he just runs past the spy and he's a good enough passer you really need that spy in coverage. He's a beast. As far as NE . Any defense is gonna look dominant playing Josh Rosen and Trevor Siemian. They are very good but their schedule gets a little tougher now.XpertDBA wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 10:18 pmYeah, that whole game was incredibly shocking. I guess Belichick had no answers for Lamar.
