Just so there isn't any Hindsight is 2020 accusations in the future. I want to go on the record say that I would to join Donn Beach in picking Gross-Matos as the guy I would have picked at 27. We will see who has the most impact this season.
I will take you up on that, I think Brookes could have a bigger impact on the season than he is being given credit for, if he manages to step in for Kendricks.

CBS mocked Brookes to the Ravens at 28

You should have picked him then.

sure, be a $100 richer, have thought about reverse engineering the Brooks pick, how you would get there, be pretty hard, the comparisons to Wagner might have been a hint

I actually like most of the picks after Brooks, I just can't fathom how picking a LB with that doesn't rush the passer and has questions about pass coverage in a league that passes the vast majority of the time warrants a first round pick when you have an All Pro LB and you need Edge rushers.

he didn't rush the passer because he was in a defense that didn't utilize him that way. From everything i have read he sounds like he could be effective rushing the passer, and his pass coverage should be okay, he has the speed and is a ball hawk...i will wait and see
Brooks is an old-school middle linebacker with an awesome build and impressive speed. He didn't play in coverage much at Texas Tech and doesn't have the best hips, but he shows up consistently on tape and was good enough to start as a true freshman. Brooks should be able to own the middle of the field in the NFL.

Old school MLB so he would be great playing against the only team in the league that is still obsessed with running the football. Maybe the Rams, Cards or 49ers should have drafted him.

Former times writer Jerry Brewer gives props to Goodell for going through with the draft. I agree. Well done.

This is bullshit. "We wouldn't possibly want to hurry the other QB ..That would be rude" " Let's use his talent in another way" They said the same crap about Curry and surprise he couldn't rush the passer.

if you don't think he can rush the passer its fine with me

“It was something that I got a chance to do a lot in last year’s system,” Brooks said about rushing the passer during his first press conference with the Seattle media. “I didn’t get as many sacks as I wanted to, but I definitely got back there a lot and was causing a lot of disruption in the backfield. So I feel really comfortable getting off offensive linemen, tackles, guards, whatever they want me to do.”

While Brooks may not be a huge factor in that area, it’s entirely possible he gets opportunities to rush the quarterback on third downs — something the Seahawks tasked Sam linebacker Mychal Kendricks with doing at times in 2019.

“I think where you play (Brooks) and all that, just in general, when you look at our division and the team speed, we’ll figure it out,” Seahawks general manager John Schneider said on Thursday. “That’s not for today. The guy can fly and he’s a run-and-hit guy. He’s actually a really good rusher from the A gap, the inside stuff. He’s a very disruptive football player.”

6 sacks in 4 years. Pretty safe to say he can't rush the passer. Not like this team needs. But hey he's a great tackler.
