Intelligent people can also be hot headed, there is also a connection between intelligence and mental illness. You can't expect intelligent people to act in a certain way. They easily could be prone to emotional outbursts
For example, one study tested the intelligence of 700,000 Swedish 16-year-olds and then followed up a decade later to learn which of them had developed mental illnesses. The startling results were published in 2010. "They found that people who excelled when they were 16 years old were four times as likely to go on to develop bipolar disorder," she said.

I believe you forgot one little incident...
Sherman was arrested on July 14, 2021, after crashing his black Mercedes sedan after driving into a construction site on Highway 520 and leaving the scene and later attempting to force entry into his in-laws' residence in Redmond.
I didn't forget. I purposely left it out. He was drunk. The other things he did sober.

Not to mention he literally switched positions from receiver to DB and became one of the all time greats. Always seems the people that know the least have huge opinions about everyone else. Sherman graduated with a 4.2 and earned honors for his grades. but that doesn't count - he yelled at erin andrews after making arguably the biggest defensive play in team history - so he's dumb. #logic
So, now switching positions makes you "highly intelligent"? ridiculous. I hope you are including yourself of "people that know the
least", because you don't know anything more than any other member of this group. Graduating high school with a 4.2 means you tried in HS. Most people who aren't athletes can't get into Stanford with a 4.2. I've heard many interviews of past and present Seahawk players who strike me as considerably more intelligent than Sherman.

this whole debate reminds of the trans/gender debate, where when presented with logic and scientific reasoning, they just change the definition to more accurately fit their narrative; "intelligence is just a social construct! It's fluid, and created by the patriarchal colonialization of Africa! He yelled after a huge play, so by definition he's stupid!"
I totally agree. Propping up Sherman as a highly intelligent person despite the long list of stupid things he's done can
only be explained by a biased woke narrative.

That's a very low bar of evidence in Sherm's favor.
No one thinks engaging in repeated stupid behavior in public is a sign of intelligence. Unless you are Richard Sherman.
No one thinks being a high caliber athlete means you are "highly intelligent". Unless you are Richard Sherman.

it's not evidence of his intelligence, my point is it doesn't have to do with intelligence. Really what it is is being a celebrity. It's part of his persona, it goes back to the rant after the championship game. He got criticized for it, but people also enjoyed it. Take Elton Musk, we agree he's intelligent, he's done some stupid stuff in terms of his celebrity. His "pedo guy" tweet was more damaging than anything Sherman ever said, it was dumb as well as vicious. His tweet claiming he was taking Tesla private. No reason for it, and it cost him a $20 million, talk about dumb, that to me is the definition of dumb. But again, it's part of his persona. They both enjoy being personalities, and they both enjoy being controversial

How about Donald trump. He's intelligent, and yet he has his steaks well done and puts ketchup on them. Come on, Is there anything dumber than that?

Richard Sherman's Outburst Was Rude, Brash, Disrespectful and Totally Awesome
Graduating from Stanford is in fact a mark of intelligence, I don't see how someone can argue that. And it was his grades that got him admitted. In fact as I understand it, Stanford doesn't have a lower standard for athletes. Football players have to meet the same academic requirements as regular students which are tough. Stanford isn't a football factory. Richard also has a photographic memory. Ask him the names of the defensive backs drafted before he was and he will rattle off the 31 names

He lived in Watts, his brother was shot twice in a drive by as a bystander. He had social issues to overcome.Family discipline is interesting. A strong family helped
Discipline was meted out swiftly and, at times, publicly. After learning that Branton had acted out in Spanish class, his mother, Beverly, drove to Dominguez and walked onto the field, interrupting football practice to lash him with a belt.

Here is a guy with a PR business explaining why he thinks RS could run it for him. This was after Richard's "thug" rant

His pivoting ability is unparalleled. His rant was a PR disaster, make no mistake about that. Our social sentiment analysis shows that negativity towards him jumped 100% afterwards. Then with an interview and a blog post, he stopped the slide in its tracks. In the days after, he deftly changed the conversation from one about sportsmanship to one about race and education.

He’s smart as hell. Sherman was second in his class in high school and graduated Stanford in four years. Some say he did it with 3.9 GPA, which is astonishing for a liberal arts major. There are reports that he has a near photographic memory and can recall images of formations months after he’s seen them.

He can write at a professional level. If you haven’t read his blog at Sports Illustrated’s MMQB, you should. Some of its entries offer a case study in how to have an opinion and make an argument for it.

He’s an excellent data analyst. Surprised? Read this blog post on how he uses data to break down quarterbacks.

He knows how to talk to different audiences. On the field, he talks smack better than anyone. On his Twitter account, he speaks his fans’ casual language, often deliberately misspelling words. But when he’s addressing a serious audience, he writes like this: “In Seattle, we chart players the same way scouts do, and we approach games with heads full of tendencies translated from raw data.”

He’s decisive. On Saturday before the game not a single social media post contained the words “Richard Sherman” and “thug” or “douche.” Since the game, 57,000 mentions have included them. So what did Sherman do? He addressed the “thug” issue head on, calling it a racist code word. This is not an original idea, but he made a persuasive, even humorous argument for it.

He’s a thought leader. Sherman offers opinions on a wide range of hot button topics for football players, including concussions and why football players aren’t paid in the preseason.

He’s transparent. In an age where it’s difficult for brands and celebrities to keep a secret, Sherman doesn’t have to. He says what he thinks, and he is who he is. Not many people can get away with being honest, but his general decentness (off the field) allows him this.

He’s good for brands. Or maybe just lucky. Just prior to the game, Beats by Dre released a commercial in which Sherman, exasperated with reporters, puts on a pair of the brand’s headphone to hear what he wants. Its views have exploded. With his rant and subsequent explanations, he’s also become the story of the Superbowl, garnering more than 1.7 million tweets, and—on Sunday—was mentioned in 7.2x more social conversations than Tom Brady and 5.3x more than Peyton Manning. You’ll also notice he never swears, even when ranting.

He just may be a marketing genius. The similarity of the firestorm to the Beats by Dre commercial led some to say that the rant was staged. It’s possible. In the commercial, Sherman takes particular offense to the word “thug,” just as he did during the actual controversy. If this was his own initiative, he should stop worrying about going to Disneyland after the Superbowl—and book his ticket to Cannes
