Effing CBS channel 7 wouldn't switch off the KC vs Bal blowout soon enough for me to have an opinion. I did see the
run stop and block FG. I'd be afraid to put it in Geno's hands after 3 picks too though. lol
True, Geno isn't exactly the best decision maker. But again, tell me this isn't a decision Pete has made his entire career? The Blair Walsh Project lost numerous games where everone but Pete knew we weren't close enough yet, but he didn't care. You think Dan Campbell is making that call? How about Siriani? Reid? McVey? He wasn't even creative, lined up in tight formation and ran dive twice. Zero intention of getting a first down. Name a HC that won a playoff game last year that you think would finish the game this way -
Geno Smith pass complete short left to Brock Bowers for 7 yards (tackle by Kevin Byard)
Geno Smith pass complete short right to Brock Bowers for 8 yards (tackle by Tremaine Edmunds)
Geno Smith pass complete short left to Tre Tucker for 4 yards (tackle by Nick McCloud)
Ashton Jeanty left guard for 4 yards (tackle by Tremaine Edmunds)
0:42 Timeout #2 by Las Vegas Raiders
Ashton Jeanty up the middle for -1 yards
0:38 Timeout #1 by Chicago Bears
Daniel Carlson 54 yard field goal no good blocked by Josh Blackwell
Kick off was at 1:38. In less than a minute they were in range for a 55 yarder, and it was second down. Over 40 seconds left and two timeouts. They gained three yards from there, AND used both timeouts to do it, to attempt a 52 yarder. All that after a good Kick Return and 19 yards passing gets you to that spot with plenty of time left. A first down and you ensure that you are the last one to touch the ball. Nope. And then? They show that shocked Pete Carroll gum chewing look we all saw so many times when this exact strategy blew up in his face so many times.

How many times do guys like him have to lose games in this fashion before they change? The answer is infinite, because they will never change. I don't hate MM, but I do not necessarily like his coaching style. We don't lose the 49er game and we blow out Arizona, if he isn't so fucking afraid to play offense. I was over it with Pete. The game has changed, and guys like Pete and MM won't. I don't understand why. We aren't the LOB, we don't have the read option threat and Beast Mode. But Pete coached his entire career as if he had that, and MM is doing much of the same shit.
I'm trying not to laugh reading your post. Maybe it's something akin to schadenfreude, but the notion of us thinking things were going to change with regard to the offensive philosophy with Pete Carroll out the door seems like a naive fantasy that has been supplanted by some bleak realization, like waking up from a pleasant dream and realizing you're stuck in a dreary landscape of familiar sights and sounds, one that there is no escape from...

This is a sick joke at the very least. :(

MNF with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Don't get no better than those two. They always keep the game exciting.

so he returns to the Halloween stance and runs for 138 yards. It is kinda scary, how he stands there
"That's how I naturally feel good standing in the backfield. So, that's how I'm going to play," Jeanty said.

I'm convinced these defensive guys would rather lose this way than admit its wrong by trying to win the fucking game with your offense on the field trying to make plays.

It's going be interesting as the season progresses.

They have grown so close over the years while their man-love has blossomed on MNF. They are such a good broadcast team.

Yeah, and it's a joke that would be a lot funnier if the guy that is basically a Pete clone wasn't coaching here. It doesn't seem fair that we should have to watch offenses like this. I'm all for running the ball, but not slamming our head against the wall once we get the lead because we are so paralyzed with fear that we might make a mistake that we simply allow the other team back in the game.

Again, even if the Raiders had made the FG? I believe they lose the game, because there was so much time left. It was first and ten with just over 50 seconds left, and they gained three yards and missed a field goal just over ten seconds later!

not that it matters but did you notice NFL.com has the Seahawks 5th in their power rankings. Seems like the Seahawks have suddenly become a popular wagon to jump on. I didn't realize anybody had them in their top 10

Rank 5

Seattle Seahawks

3-1
There was natural skepticism over the DK Metcalf trade when it went down, but Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been everything the Seahawks could have hoped for in a big-play WR1. Even with Smith-Njigba being hemmed in early (and guilty of a TD-erasing hold), he took over late with several big catches in Thursday’s road win over the Cardinals. Sam Darnold closed out both halves well, picking apart a shorthanded Arizona secondary and making some plays off-script. The schedule only gets tougher before the Week 8 bye, but the 'Hawks have positioned themselves well with three straight wins.
