I don't know that I'd welcome him back at anything more than a veteran minimum type deal. If Carson couldn't get a FA deal because he always missed 2-3 games a year, how do you justify paying Penny? The past 3/4 games have not convinced me that he can be relied upon any more than a rookie or free agent could.

I guess Norton just couldn't figure out how to use him.
I can hear Carroll saying (when asked about it) "Akhello is a really fine athlete but he just didn't fit our scheme and we had to move on" or some such drivel.

Witherspoon has the Marcus Peters mentality, where you try to jump passes and get picks, but that puts you at risk of giving up the big play. With this, you'll have great games, and nightmare games. You might end up with 8 INTs, but cost your team a game with a mistake, especially in the playoffs. That is a self-serving mentality that doesn't fit the Seahawks' defensive strategy, and he clearly didn't "buy in" to Pete's philosophy.

Hmm, in looking at those stats, he gave up 5 completions for a 10 yd average an zero TDs in 18 targets. I guess he forgot about giving up the big plays that PC was SURE he was going to give up.SeattleAddict wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 5:19 amWitherspoon has the Marcus Peters mentality, where you try to jump passes and get picks, but that puts you at risk of giving up the big play. Couldn't master the Kick Step. The only way to play Corner. Not one single Pro Bowl CB besides Shaq, who we let walk, has used it in like four seasons. But, if you can't do that...you can't play here.

I wonder if Sherm still used it after he left?Michael K. wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:44 pmCouldn't master the Kick Step. The only way to play Corner. Not one single Pro Bowl CB besides Shaq, who we let walk, has used it in like four seasons. But, if you can't do that...you can't play here.

Definitely a glimpse of what could have been! Obviously, THIS is the guy they thought they drafted. Too bad AP wasn't here the entire time to wake him the fuck up.
