No one is arguing about resigning. I think I made it very clear I disagree with his preposterous claim that it was a bad trade. He is trying to flip it, but has doubled down a few times about it being a bad trade. Which, is fucking ridiculous at best.

One of my favorite moves of the year. Early in the year I felt they needed to get another weapon on offense - a Percy Harvin type that can run, receive, stretch the field, take bodies off of JSN and return kicks, and JS went and got exactly that. Paid huge dividends, as we all saw with our own eyes. Now, is he worth $14 million a season? If someone will give him that he should take it, but I am not convinced it should be Seattle That said, they are going to need to get another receiver as Horton is likely going to spend a lot of time on the sidelines and we need someone who can get on the field. WR is a position of need in the off season.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Feb 17, 2026 2:52 amNo one is arguing about resigning. It was a bad trade given production.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Feb 17, 2026 2:52 amNo one is arguing about resigning. He wasn't Percy Harvin or even Percy Harvin light on offense. We saw the impact Harvin made in the SB and when he was on the field. Teams were terrified of him.
Nobody was terrified of a wideout who wasn't a threat to catch the football. You know how I know that? Watch the Super Bowl. They didn't respect Seattle's vertical threat whatsoever. Stacked the box every play and dared Darnold to toss it deep. The Hawks got a bit lucky that NE just wasn't a threat at all on offense. The Hawks got lucky that they didn't run into a more competent offense. Which is fantastic, but doesn't excuse the lack of passing production in multiple game late season.

The fact that he had 18 catches in 12 games?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Feb 17, 2026 1:33 amWrong again, the trade for shaheed began before Horton was injured. The plan was to play them together.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Mon Feb 16, 2026 10:01 pmIf you can show me the impact Shaheed had on the field that's passive, I'll believe you. But I don't buy it considering the passing offense took a hit after Horton went down and the Hawks traded for Shaheed.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Feb 16, 2026 8:21 pm
You are wrong, there's no other way to put it. I'm not trying to argue it as much as explain to you. It's how NFL offenses work. Instead of just being stubborn you should try and understand that. I keep coming up with things to explain it to you but you are too concerned about defending this position of yours.
Believe me, there's more to playing WR than just catching footballs. It's like saying the only reason to have running backs is to carry footballs.
This is what they were after and they were successful. There's nothing to argue. I'm perfectly confident in that
You and I both know Shaheed going for 100 yards and a TD is much more impactful that him playing a decoy. Let's not play stupid.
No team in the NFL is going to defend 18 catches over 12 games to the tune of 22 yards and 0 TD's. If Shaheed is re-signed and does that next year I don't care how many KR TD's he has, it would be a horrific signing for $15 million a year. Horrific.
The only reason people are justifying his lack of production at WR is because the Hawks won the SB. Had they lost to the Rams in the NFC Championship, a game where Shaheed had one KR for 21 yards, no punt returns, and 0 catches on 1 target... people would be looking at him as a scapegoat due to the total lack of production.
JS"We had planned on having Tory and Rashid as top-end take-the-top-off speed threats
Show you? That's all I've been doing lol. Show me something, show me something that indicates he struggled to get open.
That doesn't tell you he struggled to get open?
Are you stupid?
And I didn't say anything about the Shaheed trade being done b/c Horton got hurt. I said after Horton got hurt, the offensive production took a hit with Shaheed as the primary vertical wideout. Which is true. They were a less effective passive offense with Shaheed on the team.

It seems the Hawks are OK with moving on from K9 and will look to draft a RB... at least based on reporting... which I struggle with given that the same reporters said the Hawks were looking to hire an OC within and then went and nabbed someone from the 49ers.

Hawks trade back twice to no. 42, picking up pick 105 and 132.
Chris Bell - Huge, athletic freak but raw wideout option. More of a possession receiver. Hard to bring down and regularly bodies corners.
Jadarian Price - Could be the 2nd best back in this class behind his teammate who is expected to go round one. Big, athletic, home run hitter with untapped potential. Also brings immense value as a kick returner, averaging 36.1 yards per KR and 3x total KR/PR TD's in his career.
Sam Hecht - Very toolsy, athletic center. Lacks size and power but makes up for it with smarts and ability to move.
Tacario Davis - Projected as a late first rounder by many heading into 2025, Davis's season was marred by nagging injuries. He's tall, sticky, and physical. Could replace Woolen outside right away.
Aiden Fischer - Depth at linebacker, especially if they can't re-sign Drake Thomas. Stalwart at LB for a very stingy Indiana defense.
Carver Willis - Was very solid at left tackle for UW in 10 games. Projected to move inside. Could start at right guard.

A super bowl Champion relying on a rookie to be their RB1 when their RB2 is out for most the season to save money would be asinine.

Could be.
There's also rookies who go off. Probably the position where you'd be truly comfortable other than like guard or wideout.

It seems even though I have no idea what next year's draft will look like? I'm a big fan of next year! LOL
Was happy to get a Center though.
I'm not a fan of this draft. And it is very hard to propose trades, when they aren't proposed to you. Most of what was offered to me? The value was in moving into next year, so adding picks was very difficult.
Not thrilled that my first pick is a DT, since we are not exactly thin there. But the game is won upfront. Still, what we finished the season with was damn good, and I'm not sure we need to add to it. Not a great pick, so...fingers crossed all my trading down for next year doesn't kill us! Haha.Christen Miller
DT
Georgia
Height: 6 - 4 |
Weight: 310 lbs |
RAS: N/A
Christen Miller isn't quite the caliber of DT prospect we've seen from Georgia in years past, but he's still a very real early-round candidate with an NFL-translatable superpower that underpins his game. At 6'4", 315 pounds, with high-end natural leveraging, burst, and length, Miller has an eye-popping power profile that enables him to routinely reset the line in the run game. With sledgehammer hands, he can collapse blockers 1-on-1, and he has the raw power and strength to violently stack-and-shed. Miller is still developing as a pass-rusher beyond quick swims and raw power, as evidenced by his lacking production, but down the stretch in 2025, he flashed promise as a pass-rusher with his short-area quickness and heavy hand torque. Miller's slight hip flexibility deficiency does cap his pass-rush upside a bit, but his floor in run defense is sky-high with his reactive quickness and shedding ability, and he has the linear athleticism and point-resetting power profile to grow as a pass-down asset.

This one was more of a Pete Carroll reclamation project, but who knows!?Connor Lew
OC
Auburn
Height: 6 - 3 |
Weight: 302 lbs |
RAS: N/A
Connor Lew is both one of the youngest and the most pro-ready centers in the 2026 NFL Draft. He became a starter midway through his true freshman season, taking over for the injured Avery Jones, and didn't relinquish the job from that point onward. He received Freshman All-American recognition for his performance that year, and proceeded to start every game at the fulcrum for the Tigers in 2024. At 6'3", 302 pounds, Lew is naturally well-leveraged, but also has great lower-body mass, strength, and explosion. While he's not overly powerful, he can reach his landmarks and stack blocks efficiently in the run game, and he's a smooth anchor operator with active hands in the pass game. Lew's quick ascension is a testament to his football IQ, but he also has the physical talent to lock in early-round standing. A torn ACL suffered in October could muddy his stock, but he has declared nonetheless, and has Top 100 appeal if his medicals check out.
Ended it with a six foot three WR with no scouting notes! Not the best draft I've ever done! LOL Better hope there is a ton of talent next year.Seth McGowan
RB
Kentucky
Height: 6 - 0 |
Weight: 215 lbs |
RAS: N/A
Seth McGowan's collegiate career has been a redemptive arc. He was a highly-touted recruit upon arriving at Oklahoma in 2020, but after an arrest connected to a robbery in 2021, he was dismissed from the team. He spent three months in jail, and after fulfilling his sentence, he had few paths forward save for the JUCO level. McGowan began rebuilding himself at Butler CC, then earned a chance at New Mexico State in 2024, and then returned to the Power Four in 2025 with Kentucky, logging 725 yards, 12 touchdowns, and a strong 81.3 PFSN RB Impact score. McGowan has spoken at length about his maturation process, and his reinvention on and off the field gives merit to his words. He's still the explosive, energized size-adjusted athlete he was as a HS talent, but he showcased impressive vision, spatial instincts, and receiving versatility in 2025, and while his pass blocking technique can improve, he's a willing participant on later downs. McGowan will be an older rookie with a shorter prime at RB, but he stands as one of the best potential value players of the 2025 class with his size, athleticism, intangibles, and seasoned perspective, and he can be a rotational asset early in his career.

Yeah, the draft is considered pretty weak. I was gonna say they are taking that into consideration when deciding to trade picks mid-season. They are scouting the draft. As well as it working to push them to the bottom of the draft
