I wonder how DK is feeling about now. He has Mason Rudolph and a 6th round pick rookie as his QB options and he is the only legitimate target on the team which means he is going to see a ton of double teams.

AND he wanted a warm weather city. Not that he is going to have any trouble finding women but Pittsburgh isn't exactly known for its night life. I guess Seattle wasn't either.

He pushed his way out. I'm not sure I care about how he feels about it.

From the article:

"Metcalf also reportedly wanted to go 1) to a place that was closer to contending for a Super Bowl than the Seahawks were, or 2) a franchise with a warmer-weather climate, or 3) a team with a better quarterback situation than Seattle had. (When Metcalf asked to be traded, the Seahawks still had Smith as QB1.)

Schneider dealt the wide receiver to the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that fit none of Metcalf's wants. Pittsburgh has a solid team, but they certainly aren't closing to a championship like Seattle. While the Pacific Northwest is damp and chilly, it does not normally stay as cold as Pittsburgh. And the Steelers' quarterback situation is currently a mess.

Plus, now the wide receiver will have even less help with his new team. The Steelers will reportedly trade wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys for future draft picks."

I find humor in knowing that these overpaid egotistical clowns always want to be respected and paid. And then they get all the money and end up in a place that sucks.

The NFL does it right. Zero chance in the NBA land of player lead trades and deals and the MLBs land of guaranteed money something like this happens. Demand a trade, fine, we'll trade you, but unlike those other sports? You have no say over it, and we'll make the best deal for the team we can. DK made those demands? The only thing better would have been if they traded him to Cleveland! Who even with the groper and Deon's little boy? Might have a better QB situation than the Steelers!

Good think DK is such a good blocker!

LOL, I care. I care that I hope he feels like he fucked up.

All the money in the world probably won't make DK a happy camper in Pitt. Ruthless Pitt fans will get on the org for bad offseason decisions, and DK is going to look like a lonely poster child without a supporting cast if he pulls the same shit he pulled in Seattle.

Love the talent, loved the kid we got, but he is a diva and man-child. He either grows up in Pitt or his career is going to be waste.

He was concerned about his contract, that was it, all that other stuff was pie in the sky. Steelers tore up his existing one when the Seahawks weren't ready to

I disagree. He as unhappy with his usage in just about every season he played here.

If he was so unhappy why did he request a new contract in the first place? The trade request came after his request for a new contract was turned down.

I guess I was wrong on this one. I thought he had more than one year left on his deal. JS hasn't really ever done negotiations with years remaining. It may very well have been Seattle that didn't want him here anymore.
Yes, the Seattle Seahawks did attempt to negotiate a new deal with DK Metcalf before trading him to the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the talks ultimately proved unsuccessful, and Metcalf requested a trade.

Elaboration:

The Seahawks had discussions with Metcalf about a potential extension, hoping to secure his future and potentially reduce his cap hit.
While the two sides had conversations, it became apparent that they couldn't agree on a new contract, particularly regarding the desired salary, which Metcalf was seeking around $30 million per year.
Following these negotiations, Metcalf requested a trade, and the Seahawks subsequently traded him to the Steelers for a second-round pick and a late-round pick swap.
The Steelers quickly signed Metcalf to a five-year, $150 million contract, demonstrating their willingness to meet his financial demands.
