How are folks feeling about this one ? I am hoping Darnold doesn't get spooked and the Defense can get to Purdy -
Unleash Milroe on a couple of runs ? This might come down to a FG/ Hawks have the edge here.
Walker of if they really are going to run the ball more, theres that detailed thing again"I’ve definitely been implemented in it a lot more. Just attacking it from different ways. I’m loving the scheme and what we’ve got going on," Charbonnet said at the end of July. "I just like how it marries up with the pass game. Everything interconnects with each other, so it’s kind of hard [for the defense] to get any read on it."
win or lose, I think I am most interested in if they really get a run game going, its like "being able to run the ball when its clear you are going to run the ball" for the entire game. They have made the statement, can they stick to it."Definitely," Walker said. "That’s what we work on in practice. You can say the past years we didn’t practice [running] as much. So you know you’re not going to go out into the game and do it. … We’re real detailed with the run game, so I believe it wholeheartedly that we’re going to go out there and run the ball."
“Second year with a really bright young coach, an upgrade at coordinator and quarterback. They will be more run-specific. Grey Zabel has been a big pickup; he had a great preseason. They could not run the football last year; now they will be a run-first team.”
yeah, you get the sense the players are really buying in now, players like to run the ball, they like to be able to hit somebodyNwadventure wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 3:15 pmWalker said this without saying it- That the offense mostly the running backs had no trust in Grubb- Glad to see that has changed - They are predicting a 53 percent turn out for fans in Red- No likey -
Really good culture here. We have a great culture in this building," Barner said. "We know what the expectation is. We know the physical brand of football that we’re trying to play. There’s ego's and everyone has their swag and this and that to them, but there’s no pointing fingers. There’s no I need this and I need that. Its let me do my job, let me play the style of football we need to play and let's win games."
"Everything is going according to plan with" Kenneth Walker III heading into the start of the season.
“He looks great. He is fast. He is hitting his targets, reading it out pretty well,” Macdonald said. “It’s exciting to have him out there. When he has been out there, it’s been really good.”
Walker’s new quarterback, Sam Darnold, also had glowing praise for Walker.
“Ken’s always great,” Darnold said. “It’s always great to have him out there. He’s such a fireball just the way that he runs the rock. His attitude out there on the field, him and Charbs [Zach Charbonnet] and George [Holani] getting some touches as well. So it’s just great whenever you get everybody out there.”
Well, if you compare rosters from game 17 last year you will see why. I am not saying there is that big of a gap, but the 49ers had a shit load of injuries, and we let our QB and DK walk. I think most people who watched Seattle put less stock in that than some experts. But I am very concerned about the lack of an outside weapon. When I brought this up earlier in the off season I was told that was MVS. Running the ball is great, but if they don't fear anyone outside, it's a lot easier to take JSN and Kupp away inside and still load the box to stop the run.
