Man... what do we do at kicker?

Post by IStillLoveTheMs » Mon Nov 04, 2019 2:11 am

I said it last week... Meyers needs to be better.

Then he went out and did that... when a 22 yarder looks scary off a kickers foot you gotta move on.

What do we do?

Matt Bryant? He was released cause he missed 4 50+ yarders... but he's money inside there. At this point I take it.

The curse will only be broken when Michael Voorhees becomes the Seahawks' placekicker.

Who ties up that much money in a goddamn kicker. They should be making league minimum.

That is why we let The Housh loose a couple of million over what 3 years? Who cares about a kicker they are all the same right? For a team that plays a lot of close games kicking is a huge component. We have lost multiple games the last 2 years due to crappy kicking.\

2017 walsh 72%
2018 Seabass 82%
2019 myers 71%

Yuck

Don't think there's any "hoping"... can't afford to wait for him to fuck up going forward.

You cut your losses and move in a different direction.

there is no hoping?...he was a pro bowl kicker last season, converted 33 of 36, including 6 of 7 from 50 yards or longer, but now he is toast, we be better off scrambling around for whatever is left on the scrapheap to replace him, ok

Personally I would have him get with his coaches and check film, figure out what he is doing wrong, get him coached up

There's rough patches and there's consistent struggle in key situations. His misses have been total team killers.

It gave the Ravens all the life they needed. Game was tied 13-13... gave them the field and all momentum... 11 plays, 57 yards later and its 20-13. Hawks punt... Ravens drive again for 9 minutes... it's 23-13. He makes that... it's 16-13 Hawks and we control the game, field position and momentum.

His miss against the Steelers gave them everything they needed to keep it a close game. He makes it... it's 10-10 going into the half and we get the ball... Instead he misses and it's an uphill battle to beat a very mediocre team... total momentum killer and gave the Steelers all the hope they could ask for.

Against Tampa he's got a FG to cut it to 14-10... once again, against a mediocre football team who needs everything they can get to win a game. Gives Tampa wonderful field position and all the momentum... they drive it down our throats and boom 21-7. Not to mention missing a 40-yard game winner that you should hit in your sleep.

There's missing... and there's missing when your team can't afford for you to miss. He's missing when we're tied, or behind. That's Blair Walsh syndrome... not a sign of a guy with high mental fortitude.
