Re: Breakdown of OC Schottenheimer
Any passing scheme is going to look more effective when you have a top QB in the league throwing to receivers like Lockett and Metcalf. And if Wilson wasn't able to scramble so effectively to buy time, those pass plays wouldn't look quite so great.
Re: Breakdown of OC Schottenheimer
He doesn't have to scramble. There ate literally video breakdowns of the pass plays. Actually read it and learn something. You have an unwarranted bias.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 7:49 pmAny passing scheme is going to look more effective when you have a top QB in the league throwing to receivers like Lockett and Metcalf. So, when the offense is good it is because of the players, but when it is bad it is on the coaching? Not sure how anyone can down play Schotty’s impact here. Not gonna lie, it has surprised me...but hard to discredit.

Re: Breakdown of OC Schottenheimer
No shit because we already know there is an elite QB running the offense, along with an elite RB, an elite WR, and several other decent players like Duane Brown and DK Metcalf. That isn't to say that I haven't blamed the offensive line for several break-downs, but the slow starts are very solid evidence that the OC isn't doing a good job preparing for the games.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 9:35 pmSo, when the offense is good it is because of the players, but when it is bad it is on the coaching? I'm not wasting my team watching some goofball's spin on the play-calling. I generally don't find jargon and double-talk very compelling. Yeah, Schottenheimer is doing a great job implementing Carroll's super-conservative offensive philosophy and getting out of the way when they have their backs to the wall and need to score points.ThePro wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 10:16 pmSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 10:15 pmNo shit because we already know there is an elite QB running the offense, along with an elite RB, an elite WR, and several other decent players like Duane Brown and DK Metcalf. Re: Breakdown of OC Schottenheimer
Schottenheimer is another over-rated coach like Gus Bradley. I can't wait for him to get hired away to take the helm of a team that has a below average QB-RB combo so everyone can see what a dim bulb he actually is.
Re: Breakdown of OC Schottenheimer
I don't get your take on this at all. I get the Gus Bradley but no D coordinator here has control of the defense as long as Carroll is here. But your criticism of Schotty is just wrong. Did you at least attempt to read the article?Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 10:26 pmSchottenheimer is another over-rated coach like Gus Bradley. Excellent. The old " I'm going to hold my breath and stomp my feet" debate tactic. Jargon and double talk? You mean the terminology of the Seahawks playbook?Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 10:22 pm

The bigger point is this: Schottenheimer is calling a fantastically-designed passing game, one which shows a clear comprehension of the strengths of each personnel and how to maximize each individual skillset—Russell Wilson included. The signal caller passed for a career-record 378 yards and five touchdowns, completing 67.4 percent of his passes.
Yes, Wilson is playing the best football of his life. The improvements he’s made from a technique standpoint, particularly pocket footwork and presence, are largely thanks to Schottenheimer though. Looking at some of the prominent passing designs from the Buccaneers win, we can see how Schottenheimer’s tactics are helping the MVP candidate. Schotty stacks each concept on top of the other to butcher into the finest of cuts. Drive, Shallow, Spear, Slid, and Double China 7, await below..
